Extended depth-of-focus by digital holographic microscopy

Optics Letters, 2010
A recurrent problem in microscopy is the finite depth-of-focus linked to the NA of microscope objectives. Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) has the unique feature of being able to numerically change the focus from a single hologram without the need of moving the sample.

A general model for resolution of digital holographic microscopy

Journal of Microscopy, 2015
SummaryFor digital holographic microscopic imaging, the resolution in the reconstructed image is one of the most important parameters. To optimize the lateral resolution, a general model for the resolution of digital holographic microscopy (DHM) is proposed in this work, in which the effects of the sizes of each pixel, total area of the charge coupled ...

Digital holographic microscopy applied to life sciences

2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007
Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) is applied to life sciences applications and demonstrate its capability of real-time imaging and quantitative measurements of physiological parameters such as cell volume or mean cell hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) of erythrocyte cells. DHM has the advantage to be non-invasive (no phototoxicity, no contrast agents)

Speckle-field digital polarization holographic microscopy

Optics Letters, 2019
We present a new polarization holographic microscopy technique based on speckle-field illumination with enhanced spatial resolution and controlled coherent noise reduction. The proposed technique employs a spatial light modulator for the generation of a sequential speckle pattern for the illumination of the sample.

Dual plane in-line digital holographic microscopy

Optics Letters, 2010
We report a dual plane in-line digital holographic microscopy technique that exploits the method of subtraction of average intensity of the entire hologram to suppress the zero-order diffracted wave. Two interferograms are recorded at different planes to eliminate the conjugate image.

Swept source digital holographic phase microscopy

Optics Letters, 2016
We propose a swept source-based digital holographic phase microscopy technique. By scanning source wavelength, a series of on-axis interferograms can be obtained for accurate determination of the sample phase using spectral domain interferometry. With these sample spectra, sources of undesirable interference artifacts, often significant in holographic ...
