Optimal digital color image correlation
Abstract Within the context of Digital Image Correlation (DIC), the optimal treatment of color images is considered. The mathematical bses of a weighted 3-field image correlation are first introduced, which are relevant for RGB encoded images. In this framework, noise characterization methods are developed as noise properties dictate the best suited ...

Time‐resolved integrated digital image correlation [PDF]
SummaryThis paper discusses a method that provides the direct identification of constitutive model parameters by intimately integrating the finite element method (FEM) with digital image correlation (DIC), namely, directly connecting the experimentally obtained images for all time increments to the unknown material parameters. The problem is formulated

Recent Advances and Perspectives in Digital Image Correlation [PDF]
As evidenced by the articles in this Special Issue, the advent of digital image correlation (DIC) and related methods for accurate, full-field deformation mappings has reverberated throughout the world of experimental mechanics and altered forever the way in which measurements are made and analyses are performed.

Ki-67 Index Measurement in Breast Cancer Using Digital Image Analysis [PDF]
Ki-67 is a nuclear protein that can be produced during cell proliferation. The Ki67 index is a valuable prognostic variable in several kinds of cancer. In breast cancer, the index is even routinely checked in many patients. Currently, pathologists use the immunohistochemistry method to calculate the percentage of Ki-67 positive malignant cells as Ki-67

Fatigue microcrack detection with digital image correlation [PDF]
A digital image correlation method is proposed to detect and quantify automatically microcracks on the surface of a specimen during a fatigue test. The proposed procedure allows for a fast scanning of the entire surface with all possible (pixel-wise) locations of microcrack centres and the detection of cracks having a sub-pixel opening.
