Ferrite Digital Phase Shifters
G-MTT Symposium Digest, 2005Recent phased array system requirements for fast switching, latching type phase shifters have prompted considerable interest in the non-reciprocal ferrite phase shifter using a toroidal geometry. The use of the toroidal geometry permits the ferrite to he permanently magnetized in the circumferential direction by passing a current pulse through the ...

Digitally Controlled RF Phase Shifter
2020 IEEE 15th International Conference on Advanced Trends in Radioelectronics, Telecommunications and Computer Engineering (TCSET), 2020In this work, the characteristics of known radiofrequency (RF) phase shifter varieties were analyzed, their advantages and disadvantages were identified. Based on the performed analysis, we offer a digitally controlled RF phase shifter, which allows changing the initial phase of the radio frequency oscillation using a computer program.

Digital tanlock loop without a phase shifter
2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP), 2014This paper presents an improved digital tanlock loop architecture that has linear phase detector characteristics. These characteristics were linearized by removing the fixed time delay unit in the original time delay tanlock loop (TDTL) and using a modified DCO (digital controlled oscillator). The modified DCO incorporates lookup tables to generate two

Multicolor digital holography with an achromatic phase shifter
Optics Letters, 2002Multiwavelength recording and reconstruction of a three-dimensional object are realized by use of phase-shifting digital holography. Red, green, and blue lines emitted from a white-light He-Cd laser are used for one-step recording of the complex amplitude of the object with a color CCD camera, in which a phase shift is introduced with an achromatic ...

Optical control of a digital phase shifter
IEEE International Digest on Microwave Symposium, 2002A method for the optical control of digital phase shifters which significantly reduces the number of control lines required is described. The technique uses a simple cost-effective light-emitting diode (LED) source along with a MESFET detector and an A/D converter to generate the digital phase shifter command.

A digital phase shifter with linear phase-shift variations with a π/N step, where N is the overall division factor of used frequency dividers, is described. The device is easy to realize and intended to easily set and change a phase-shift step, carrying out the reverse (manual and automatic) phase change with a preset rate.

Switched-line network with digital phase shifter
International Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Numerical Simulation, 2021AbstractThis article studies a six-bit digital phase shifter and its compatible design through different physiognomies. Furthermore, the communication circuits are applied based on modern knowledge by application. The study started with the initial values of 5.625° as the digital phase shifter is programmed discrete and advanced to a 64-step size ...

High Precision Digital Based 3.8GHz Phase Shifter
2015 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Design and Diagnostics of Electronic Circuits & Systems, 2015The paper reports a highly repeatable 10-bits 3.8 GHz phase shifter implemented in a standard 0.35 µm SiGe technology for high precision applications. The prototype principle of operations and design are thoroughly described and demonstrated. The generated 0.35° phase step exhibits a rms error lower than 0.32°, mainly determined by the PLL inserted in ...

Homodyne network analyzer with cascaded digital phase shifters
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1986A network analyzer system employing a digital phase modulation and linear frequency conversion of the test signal is described. The system makes use of a microcomputer as a key component and operates as a precise RF-vector voltmeter over the full X-band (8.0-12.4 GHz) without the need for calibration standards. Measurement results for an insertion-loss

Sidelobe-reduction technique for phased arrays using digital phase shifters
1970 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 1970Through the introduction of a new parameter the radiation pattern of a phased array using digital phase shifters for beam steering can be made periodic, and pattern considerations can be confined to a very narrow range of the scan angle. Arrays designed on the basis of a least mean-square pattern error are shown to require the smallest absolute values ...
