Digital mapping of a soil profile
Summary Detailed information on soil profiles is required for site characterization, soil mapping, studies on pedogenesis, soil–landscape modelling and soil classification. In this study, we used digital soil mapping techniques to map the profile wall of an Alfisol (90‐cm depth × 100‐cm ...

A robust plant protein adhesive was prepared by fabricating a bi‐continuous organic–inorganic hybrid structure. Compared with traditional organic–inorganic hybrid adhesives, the addition amount of inorganic phase is increased from 0.2%–3.0% to 50%, and the strength and toughness are increased by 6 and 121 times, respectively.

Reducing location error of legacy soil profiles leads to improvement in digital soil mapping
Digital soil mapping relies on statistical relationships between soil profile observations and environmental covariates at the sample locations. However, inherent limitations of legacy soil profiles, such as inaccurate georeferencing, could frequently ...

Digital soil mapping using reference area and artificial neural networks
Digital soil mapping is an alternative for the recognition of soil classes in areas where pedological surveys are not available. The main aim of this study was to obtain a digital soil map using artificial neural networks (ANN) and environmental ...

Decomposing Dual Scale Soil Surface Roughness for Microwave Remote Sensing Applications [PDF]
Soil surface roughness, as investigated in this study, is decomposed in a dual scale process. Therefore, we investigated photogrammetrically acquired roughness information over different agricultural fields in the size of 6-22 m(2) and decomposed them ...

Digital soil mapping for the Parnaíba River delta, Brazilian semiarid region
Soil mapping is a permanent demand, but the traditional method does not allow fast execution and low cost. Digital soil mapping (DSM) aims to improve the process by working with models that treat soil spatial variability quantitatively.

Soil Salinity Mapping of Croplands in Arid Areas Based on the Soil–Land Inference Model
Soil salinization can decrease soil productivity and is a significant factor in causing land degradation. Precision mapping of salinization in agricultural fields would improve farmland management.
