3D Printed Omniphobic Slippery Liquid Infused Porous Surfaces for Low Surface Tension Repellency
A 3D printing strategy fabricates omniphobic slippery liquid‐infused porous structures with lubricant reservoirs and interconnected microchannels. A post‐printing surface treatment modifies the porous surface to ensure compatibility with the infused fluorinated lubricant.

THE SCALE PROBLEM IN MODERN SOIL MAPPING
One of the features of the transition from traditional soil cartography to digital technologies for compiling and using soil maps is a qualitative change in both the concept of “map” and the concept of “map scale”.

Landscape system mapping of the humid Baturié massif and its semi-arid piedmont (Northeastern Brazil): A multilayer integration of environmental parameters [PDF]
The Baturité massif is the erosional remnant of an Early Cretaceous rift shoulder. Humid bioclimatic conditions on this upstanding residual landform contrast with the semi-arid conditions of the surrounding plain ('Sertão').

Water Body Distributions Across Scales: A Remote Sensing Based Comparison of Three Arctic Tundra Wetlands [PDF]
Water bodies are ubiquitous features in Arctic wetlands. Ponds, i.e., waters with a surface area smaller than 104 m2, have been recognized as hotspots of biological activity and greenhouse gas emissions but are not well inventoried.
