When Digitizing Content is Not Sufficient: Digital Strategies for the Educational Publishing Sector
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2014The course of digitisation has transformed the educational publishing sector profoundly. Indeed, new business models are needed to ensure a successful mastering of the digital era in educational publishing. This paper focuses on best business practices concerning the digitisation of an educational content portfolio and shows the state-of the-art in ...

Sufficient conditions for optimality of Analog to Digital Converters
52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013In this paper we prove optimality of a class of Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs), which can be viewed as generalized Delta-Sigma Modulators (DSMs), with respect to a performance measure that can be characterized as the worst-case average intensity of the signal representation error.

On sampling rate, analog prefiltering, and sufficient statistics for digital receivers
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1994We consider the joint sequence estimation, timing and phase recovery for linear modulation. The paper differs from the classical ones in the sense that time-discrete algorithms suitable for fully digital receivers are discussed. Sufficient conditions are given such that the signal samples represent sufficient statistics. These conditions involve signal

A simple sufficient criterion for the stability of multidimensional digital filters
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1982In this paper a theorem concerning the absence of zeros of a multivariable polynomial in the closed unit polydisc of a multidimensional complex plane is presented. Using this theorem the stability of a large class of multidimensional digital filters can be tested almost by inspection.

Sufficient stability condition for a sampled-data system with digital controller
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1995Summary: A quantitative stability condition for a sampled-data feedback system is formulated. The system is obtained from a stable continuous-time feedback system by digitalization of the controller. The condition shows how to determine a sampling frequency \(f_0\) such that for all \(f\) larger than \(f_0\) the discrete-time system remains stable.

Sufficient conditions for the stability of multidimensional recursive digital filters
[Proceedings] ICASSP 91: 1991 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991Sufficient conditions to secure the stability of a multidimensional linear shift-invariant digital filter are reviewed and extended. Examples are given to illustrate the use of the conditions and the connections between them. Geometrical properties of the stability domain of particular recursive filters are introduced. >
