Compact RF CMOS 4-bit Digitally Controlled Oscillator
2019 26th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2019Design of a reconfigurable compact digitally controlled oscillator (DCO is proposed in this paper. It uses a gyrator-C based-topology tunable active inductor (TAI) that achieves coarse frequency tuning due to a digitally controlled current source and a variable capacitance bank.

A digital-trim controlled on-chip RC oscillator
Proceedings of the 44th IEEE 2001 Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems. MWSCAS 2001 (Cat. No.01CH37257), 2002In this paper, a high-accuracy RC Oscillator (OSC) circuit is demonstrated using trimming control. The OSC uses a 7-bit binary-weighted resistor array as the trimming object. Using a 0.5 /spl mu/m CMOS process, the final output frequency can be achieved within 0.5% error while the original OSC without trimming has as much as 40% output variation due to

A novel digitally controlled low noise ring oscillator
2008 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2008This paper presents a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) with a novel architecture. The proposed DCO achieves low noise operation without the need for an LC resonator or specialized radio frequency (RF) process layers. Frequency tuning is achieved by controlling capacitive coupled charge injection.

Highly accurate digital sinusoidal oscillators using controlled rounding
1988., IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003The author proposes a novel type of digital oscillator and analyzes its properties using complex phasors. Bounds of amplitude deviation and phase jitter are discussed theoretically and confirmed by simulation. As an example, it is shown that both relative amplitude deviation and phase jitter in radians can be within 0.0005 for an initial amplitude of ...

A portable high-frequency digitally controlled oscillator (DCO)
Proceedings of the 23rd ACM international conference on Great lakes symposium on VLSI, 2013A novel digitally-controlled oscillator (DCO) is reported. Utilizing a new capacitive load, the new DCO is capable of producing much higher output frequencies than existing DCOs. All other components are fully digital and modular, allowing portability to any CMOS process and customization for different applications. At the heart of the DCO is a digital
