Wide-range oscillator with digital control for digital waveform generation
A variable frequency oscillator with precise digital control over a very wide frequency range has been developed. Two standard VCO chips are used to form two independent phase-locked loops; one adjusted to cover the lower frequency range and the other the higher frequency range.

Design of Gigahertz Tuning Range 5 GHz LC Digitally Controlled Oscillator in 0.18 μm CMOS
In this paper design and simulation of a 4.3 - 5.4 GHz LC digitally controlled oscillator (LC DCO) in IBM 7RF 0.18 μm CMOS technology are presented. Wide gigahertz tuning range is achieved by using two LC DCOs, sharing same structure.

Linear phase demodulator including a phase locked loop with auxiliary feedback loop [PDF]
A phase modulated wave that may have no carrier power is demodulated by a phase locked loop including a phase detector for deriving an A.C. data output signal having a magnitude and a phase indicative of the phase of the modulated wave.
