Omics analysis reveals key genes mediating herbicide resistance in Digitaria sanguinalis

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology
Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop is recognized as one of the most problematic agricultural weeds, with chemical control remaining a crucial management strategy. However, increased selection pressures have led to the emergence of resistant populations that reproduce and establish themselves as dominant communities, thereby severely jeopardizing crop ...

Postemergence Control of Large Crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis) with Herbicides

Weed Science, 1991
Four field locations were used to compare environmental factors on efficacy of four postemergence grass herbicides in Kentucky bluegrass and bermudagrass turf. Imazaquin, BAS 514, and tridiphane were compared to fenoxaprop-ethyl, a registered herbicide, for postemergence control of large crabgrass.

Density‐related effects on the infectivity and aggressiveness of a sterilising smut in a wild population of Digitaria sanguinalis

Plant Biology, 2014
AbstractUnderstanding host–pathogen evolutionary dynamics needs characterisation and quantification of processes occurring at many spatiotemporal scales. With this aim, the effects of smut on a naturally infected population of the summer annual Digitaria sanguinalis were followed for 4 years in an uncropped field.

Interaction of Bromoxynil and Postemergence Graminicides on Large Crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis)

Weed Technology, 1998
The effect of bromoxynil on large crabgrass control by clethodim, sethoxydim, fluazifop-P, fluazifop-P plus fenoxaprop-P, and quizalofop-P was evaluated in 1996 and 1997 in bromoxynil-tolerant cotton and in fallow areas. Bromoxynil at 560 g ai/ha reduced large crabgrass control 4 weeks after treatment (WAT) when mixed with labeled rates of fluazifop-P,

Involvement of P450s in the metabolic resistance of Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop. To ALS-inhibiting herbicides

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology
Weed resistance to a range of herbicides has rapidly evolved, often with different mechanisms of action. The resulting uninhibited growth of weeds poses demonstrable threats to crop production and sustainable agriculture. Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop., a troublesome weed in corn and other agricultural fields, has developed resistance to herbicides ...

Transformation of Digitaria sanguinalis with XvPer1, a novel antioxidant

2002
Digitaria sanguinalis, a widespread African grass, was micropropagated from immature inflorescences. Embryogenic calli generated was transformed with XvPerl using the Biolistic gene gun. XvPer 1 shares high similarity to a recently discovered group of antioxidants, the 1-Cys PRX's. A homologue was shown to be absent in D.
