Involvement of P450s in the metabolic resistance of Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop. To ALS-inhibiting herbicides

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology
Weed resistance to a range of herbicides has rapidly evolved, often with different mechanisms of action. The resulting uninhibited growth of weeds poses demonstrable threats to crop production and sustainable agriculture. Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop., a troublesome weed in corn and other agricultural fields, has developed resistance to herbicides ...

Crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis) Allelochemicals That Interfere with Crop Growth and the Soil Microbial Community

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2013
Three chemicals, veratric acid, maltol, and (−)-loliolide, were isolated from crabgrass and their structures were identified by spectroscopic analysis. The chemicals were detected in crabgrass root exudates and rhizosphere soils, and their concentrations ranged from 0.16 to 8.10 μg/g.

Density‐related effects on the infectivity and aggressiveness of a sterilising smut in a wild population of Digitaria sanguinalis

Plant Biology, 2014
AbstractUnderstanding host–pathogen evolutionary dynamics needs characterisation and quantification of processes occurring at many spatiotemporal scales. With this aim, the effects of smut on a naturally infected population of the summer annual Digitaria sanguinalis were followed for 4 years in an uncropped field.

Digitaria sanguinalis seedling development pattern: Relationship with seed origin

Plant Biosystems - An International Journal Dealing with all Aspects of Plant Biology, 2013
In the context of a long-term study of the pathosystem Digitaria sanguinalis–Ustilago syntherismae, seeds were collected over several years from a naturally infested field. Two different patterns of germination were found depending on the embryonic organ that first emerges: radicle or coleoptile. The mean frequencies of each pattern of germination were

A novel EPSPS Pro-106-His mutation confers the first case of glyphosate resistance in Digitaria sanguinalis.

Pest Management Science, 2022
BACKGROUND Digitaria sanguinalis has been identified as a species at high risk of evolving herbicide resistance, but thus far, there are no records of resistance to glyphosate.

Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop maternal effects on seed dormancy under environmental variations imposed by crop canopy

Crop and Pasture Science, 2022
Context. Different environmental factors occurring during seed development could be responsible for maternal effects on seed dormancy. Understanding these effects on Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop seeds would help to predict it’s seedling emergence ...
