A model is schematically represented for the major molecular mechanisms by which homocysteine (Hcy) accelerates the nuclear export of circ‐PIAS1‐5, which regulates atherosclerosis by acting as a competing endogenous RNA for miR‐219a‐2‐3p. Hcy enrichment of circ‐PIAS1‐5 leads to YTHDC1 binding to circ‐PIAS1‐5 and promotes its intracellular localization ...

Abstract Stellate sturgeon (Acipenser stellatus) is a species of great conservation concern throughout its range. Over the past century, it has experienced a dramatic decline in abundance and distribution in the Black Sea basin. Information regarding the genetic structure of the species is very limited in the region, despite its crucial importance for ...

Aperture Photometry of Saturated Star Images from Digitised Photographic Plates [PDF]
Saturated stellar images on digitised photographic plates are many times greater in area than the `seeing disk' seen in unsaturated CCD images. Indeed the flux profile of a bright star can be traced out for several degrees from the star's centre. The radius of the saturated stellar image can often be directly related to the magnitude of the star, a ...

Modelling, reduction and analysis of Markov automata (extended version) [PDF]
Markov automata (MA) constitute an expressive continuous-time compositional modelling formalism. They appear as semantic backbones for engineering frameworks including dynamic fault trees, Generalised Stochastic Petri Nets, and AADL.

Improving Adult Vision Through Pathway‐Specific Training in Augmented Reality
Traditional perceptual training approaches are limited by stimulus specificity, treatment efficacy, and patient compliance. A novel altered reality (AR) method is developed to enhance pathway‐specific functions in human adults while performing everyday activities.

Abstract The freshwater pleurodiran turtle Neochelys is the best‐represented member of Podocnemididae in the European record, being known by eight Eocene species. The youngest of them is the Bartonian (middle Eocene) Neochelys salmanticensis, from the Duero Basin (Salamanca Province, Central Spain).

Dynamics in Hamiltonian Lattice Gauge Theory: Approaching the Continuum Limit with Partitionings of SU$(2)$ [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate a digitised SU$(2)$ lattice gauge theory in the Hamiltonian formalism. We use partitionings to digitise the gauge degrees of freedom and show how to define a penalty term based on finite element methods to project onto physical states of the system. Moreover, we show for a single plaquette system that in this framework the

M.i.p. detection performances of a 100 us read-out CMOS pixel sensor with digitised outputs [PDF]
Swift, high resolution CMOS pixel sensors are being developed for the ILC vertex detector, aiming to allow approaching the interaction point very closely. A major issue is the time resolution of the sensors needed to deal with the high occupancy generated by the beam related background.
