The Frontiersmen as an Object of Czech Nationalism 1918–1935

open access: yesStudies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the phenomenon of the frontiersmen, that is, the Czech minority border communities, as a part of the discourse of the Czech nationalist movement. Via the example of the Czechoslovak National Democracy party, it traces the frontiersmen on two levels.

Kürtçeden Arapçaya Geçtiği Düşünülen Bazı Kelimeler ve Tahlilleri

open access: yesArtuklu Kurdology

Proteomic profile of CSF obtained at the time of diagnosis determines amyotrophic lateral sclerosis progression and survival: CXCL7 levels in disease prognosis and survival

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 5, September 2026.
Untargeted multiomic profiling of cerebrospinal fluid reveals that proteomic, but not lipidomic, signatures robustly distinguish ALS patients from controls and stratify individuals by survival, highlighting marked molecular differences between short survival and long survival disease.

Peer Recovery Care Planning While Awaiting Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment

open access: yesDrug and Alcohol Review, Volume 45, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction People experiencing addiction often face barriers to care, including long wait times and social isolation. Peer support, delivered by people with lived experience, can address these challenges by fostering engagement and building recovery skills. This study piloted a peer intervention using the RECovery CAPital (REC‐CAP) strengths

The Influence of Aged Smoke on Urban Ozone: Aircraft Measurements in Chicago During the 2023 Canadian Wildfires

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract As large wildfires become more frequent and severe in North America due to heightened fuel aridity and fire weather conditions driven by anthropogenic climate change, wildfire smoke has an increasingly important influence on air quality. Transported smoke can impact urban boundary layer ozone (O3) directly, via the entrainment of O3 formed in ...

Probabilistic quality assurance of biopsy DVH thresholds in HDR prostate brachytherapy under localization uncertainty

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Background MR‐US guided biopsies support biologic correlation in HDR prostate brachytherapy, but steep dose gradients and millimeter‐scale localization uncertainty limit the validity of nominal biopsy doses. Purpose To assess how localization uncertainty affects the robustness of biopsy DVH dose thresholds in HDR prostate brachytherapy and to ...

A Catalytic Osmium Redox Couple Collapses Cancer Redox Balance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
A stable Os(III)/Os(IV) redox couple is developed to disrupt the tumor cell redox balance by concurrently catalyzing ROS generation and GSH depletion. Osmium‐treated cells exhibit multiple cell death pathways, including apoptosis, ferroptosis, and immunogenic cell death.

hUC‐MSCs via β‐NGF Alleviate Cognitive Impairment After Tibial Fracture Surgery by Regulating the STMN2/NMNAT2‐SARM1‐NF‐κB Signaling Pathway

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study found that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells secrete β‐NGF, which binds to the TrkA receptor on neurons, upregulates the protein levels of STMN2 and NMNAT2 in mice with perioperative neurocognitive disorders, and thereby downregulates the protein levels of SARM1 and p‐NF‐κB.

PD‐1hiCXCR5−CD4+T Peripheral Helper Cells Were Enriched and Potentially Predicted Clinical Response to Etanercept Therapy in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study investigated the role of PD‐1hiCXCR5−CD4+ T peripheral helper (Tph) cells in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Tph cells were increased in the peripheral blood of RA patients and associated with disease activity. Baseline Tph cell levels were linked to the response to etanercept therapy.
