A CARDIOSPASM DILATOR [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1917
The cardiospasm dilator described here was developed to meet certain exigencies in the treatment of cardiospasm cases. It was made by using an ordinary stomach tube of small diameter and attaching to its end the tapering tip of a small bougie. A rubber balloon was then fastened about the tube and bougie end, as shown.

In Situ X‐Ray Tomography and Acoustic Emission Monitoring of Damage Evolution in C/C‐SiC Composites Fabricated by Liquid Silicon Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates how the internal structure of fiber‐reinforced ceramic composites affects their resistance to damage. By combining 3D X‐ray imaging with acoustic emission monitoring during mechanical testing, it reveals how silicon distribution influences crack formation.

Transvenous removal of pacing and defibrillating leads using mechanical dilatation: a single center long term experience

open access: yes, 2009
Purpose: Transvenous Pacing (PL) and Defibrillating Lead (DL) extraction is a highly effective technique. Device related complications are currently rising the need of Transvenous Lead Removal (TLR).

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...

Apport des moyens endoscopiques dans la dilatation des sténoses caustiques de l'ésophage

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2016

Dilatation operator and Cayley graphs.

open access: yes, 2008
We use the algebraic definition of the Dilatation operator provided by Minahan, Zarembo, Beisert, Kristijansen, Staudacher, proper for single trace products of scalar fields, at leading order in the large-N 't Hooft limit to develop a new approach to ...

G3BP1 Succinylation at K413 is Critical for Cardiac Function by Modulating PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR Signal Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating the impact of G3BP1 succinylation at K413 on cardiac function. In the healthy human heart, G3BP1 succinylation maintains homeostatic mTOR signaling. In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and heart failure (HF), G3BP1 de‐succinylation induces RagA expression and disrupts the binding of the TSC1/2 complex, leading to the ...

Impact of stent deployment pressure and poststenting dilatation on the outcome of elective percutaneous coronary intervention

open access: yes, 2016
Mahmoud K Nour Department of Critical Care Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Giza, Cairo, Egypt Background: High-pressure stent deployment was proposed as a strategy that ensures complete stent apposition but its relation to outcome is ...

Percutaneous tracheotomy: Forceps vs. cone dilatation techniques

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Percutanoeous tracheotomy (PT) is a minimal invasive procedure alternative to surgical tracheotomy. PT offers an added advantage of enormous decrease of time interval between decision of doing tracheotomy and actually doing it.
