Phase Equilibrium and Austenite Decomposition in Advanced High-Strength Medium-Mn Bainitic Steels

open access: yesMetals, 2016
The work addresses the phase equilibrium analysis and austenite decomposition of two Nb-microalloyed medium-Mn steels containing 3% and 5% Mn. The pseudobinary Fe-C diagrams of the steels were calculated using Thermo-Calc.

Investigation with using thermal analysis of gas evolution and sintering of nanopowders of zirconia prepared by sol-gel method

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы, 2020
Thermal and XRD analyses were used to study partially stabilized zirconia powders produced by sol-gel method in order to investigate gas evolution in annealing in air and densification behavior of these powders in compaction and subsequent sintering. It

Pressure Induced Topological Phase Transitions in Membranes

open access: yes, 1992
Some highly unusual features of a lipid-water liquid crystal are revealed by high pressure x-ray diffraction, light scattering and dilatometric studies of the lamellar (bilayer $L_{\alpha}$) to nonlamellar inverse hexagonal ($H_{II}$) phase transition ...

Two‐Stage Isothermal Transformation of Austenite into Nanobainite in a Chemically Inhomogeneous Medium‐Alloy Steel Containing 0.5 wt% C

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The effect of chemical inhomogeneity on the microstructure and properties of nanobainitic steel is investigated. A two‐stage isothermal heat treatment that produced a more uniform microstructure is designed. The first‐stage temperature is higher than the MS of depleted bands; conversely, the second‐stage temperature is lower than the first‐stage ...

Microstructure Evolution of Cold-Rolled Carbide-Free Bainite Steel Sheets During Continuous Annealing Process

open access: yesMetals
A modified carbide-free bainite (CFB) steel has been developed, building on existing alloys for compatibility with commercial continuous annealing lines (CALs), featuring a low austenitization temperature and short overaging time.

Experimental determination of continuous cooling transformation diagram for high strength steel X155CrMoV12

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2022
The article is a result of investigations which deals with the phase transformations of tool steel X155CrMoV12. The experimental data obtained was used to evaluate the resulting Continuous Cooling Transform (CCT) diagram, which consists of seven dilation

Superconductivity in heavy-fermion U(Pt,Pd)3 and its interplay with magnetism

open access: yes, 1999
The effect of Pd doping on the superconducting phase diagram of the unconventional superconductor UPt3 has been measured by (magneto)resistance, specific heat, thermal expansion and magnetostriction.

Understanding the negative thermal expansion in planar graphite–metal composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The addition of graphitic fibers and flakes as fillers is commonly used to control the thermal expansion of metals. Sintered metal matrix composites with a planar distribution of graphite flakes show a low or negative thermal expansion coefficient ...

Effect of Double Annealing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Medium Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Evaluation of Stationary Creep Rate in Heat-Affected Zone of Martensitic 9–12% Cr Steels

open access: yesMetals, 2020
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the contribution of distinct regions of the simulated heat-affected zone (HAZ) to the overall creep behavior of welded joints in the X20 and P91 steels.
