Heterogeneous synthesis of glycerol carbonate from glycerol and dimethyl carbonate catalyzed by LiCl/CaO

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2019
In this article, a CaO-based catalyst was prepared by impregnating chloride salts on CaO to develop a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of glycerol carbonate (GC) from glycerol and dimethyl carbonate.

Reaction of CO2 With Alcohols to Linear-, Cyclic-, and Poly-Carbonates Using CeO2-Based Catalysts

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2020
Reaction of CO2 with alcohols to organic carbonates is one of non-reductive CO2 conversion methods. The catalysts are needed for this reaction, at the same time, effective H2O removal methods are also needed because the yield of organic carbonates is ...

Analysis of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry data for catalytic lignin depolymerization using positive matrix factorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Various catalytic technologies are being developed to efficiently convert lignin into renewable chemicals. However, due to its complexity, catalytic lignin depolymerization often generates a wide and complex distribution of product compounds.

Dimethyl carbonate synthesis from CO2 and methanol over CeO2-ZrO2 catalyst

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2022
CexZr1-xO2 catalysts with different Ce/Zr mole ratios were prepared by the sol-gel method and used for the direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from CO2 and methanol.

Nitrile-assistant eutectic electrolytes for cryogenic operation of lithium ion batteries at fast charges and discharges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The charge/discharge characteristics of lithium ion batteries at low temperature (LT = -20 ??C) are enhanced by using ethylene carbonate (EC)-based electrolytes with the help of assistant solvents of nitriles. Conventional liquid electrolytes (e.g.

Nonflammable Lithium Metal Full Cells with Ultra-high Energy Density Based on Coordinated Carbonate Electrolytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Coupling thin Li metal anodes with high-capacity/high-voltage cathodes such as LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811) is a promising way to increase lithium battery energy density. Yet, the realization of high-performance full cells remains a formidable challenge.

Investigating the reaction mechanism of dimethyl carbonate synthesis through isotopic labeling experiments

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2023
The synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from carbon dioxide and methanol was studied over a ceria- zirconia mixed metal oxide. When using oxygen-18 labeled ceria-zirconia, no oxygen-18 labeled DMC or water was observed.

Synthesis of dimethyl carbonate in supercritical carbon dioxide [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2006
The reactivity of carbon dioxide with methanol to form dimethyl carbonate was studied in the presence of the n-butylmethoxytin compounds n-Bu3SnOCH3, n-Bu2Sn(OCH3)2 , and [n-Bu2(CH3O)Sn]2 O. The reaction occurred under solventless conditions at 423 K and was produced by an increase in CO2 pressure.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A New Approach to Environmentally Friendly Protein Plastics and Foams

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
New formaldehyde-free and isocyanate-free bioplastics and biofoams were prepared by reacting ovoalbumin and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) at a moderate temperature.
