Endogenous formation of dimethylamine [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1985
An understanding of the biosynthesis and metabolism of dimethylamine (DMA) is important because it is a precursor of dimethylnitrosamine (nitroso-DMA). DMA is the major short-chain aliphatic amine in human and rat urine. DMA is formed from trimethylamine (TMA), which, in turn, is a breakdown product of dietary choline.

Regiodivergent C3 and C4 Amination of Quinolines via Radical and Ionic Pathways

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A regiodivergent strategy converts a single N‐aminoquinolinium precursor into either C3‐ or C4‐aminated quinolines. Nucleophile‐induced dearomatization diverges into light‐driven N‐centered radical capture (C3) or base‐promoted SNAr (C4), enabling rapid assembly of aminoquinoline libraries and late‐stage diversification.

Method Development for the Assignment of NMR Peaks and the Determination of Quaternary Protein Structure using Reductive Methylation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The work described herein is centered on reductive methylation, a chemical modification reaction, which allows for the introduction of methyl groups at the primary amines of the lysine side chain and at the N-terminus.

Activated carbons as green and effective catalysts for generation of reactive radicals in degradation of aqueous phenol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Several activated carbons (ACs) were used as metal-free catalysts for degradation of a toxic organiccompound, phenol, in the presence of different oxidants, H2O2, peroxydisulfate (PS) and peroxymonosulfate (PMS).

Multivalent bacteria binding by flexible polycationic microsheets matching their surface charge density [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Aiming at the overall negative surface charge of bacteria, a new strategy of antibacterial agents based on large polymer‐modified graphene oxide (GO) sheets is assessed. The presented flexible, polycationic sheets match the size and charge density of the
