Antihypertensive effects of new dihydropyridine derivatives on phenylephrine-raised blood pressure in rats

open access: yesResearch in Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2016
Changes in the substitutions at C-3 and C-5 positions of 4-(1-methyl-5-nitro-2-imidazolyl) dihydropyridine analogs of nifedipine have led to changes in potency of the compounds. The objective of the present study was to examine the hypotensive effects of

Histopathological investigation of wound healing activities of Lucilia sericata Larva and Achillea sintenisii extract combinations in diabetic rat wound model

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Lucilia sericata larvae secrete bioactive compounds that promote wound debridement and antimicrobial defence in chronic tissue injuries. Achillea sintenisii extract offers phytotherapeutic support, enhancing healing through anti‐inflammatory and regenerative properties. Diabetic Wistar rats were treated topically with Furacin®, larval secretions, plant

Paravasation with cyclophosphamide - Case report of tissue necrosis in a patient with primary breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background: Paravasation is a rare but severe complication of treatment with cytotoxic agents. Some anticancer drugs are considered to be of high toxicity (vesicant), some are merely irritant, and some are regarded as nearly non-toxic to healthy tissue ...

Enhanced CO2 Coordinates the Spatial Recruitment of Diazotrophs in Rice Via Root Development

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 7, Page 3678-3693, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding the reciprocal interaction between root development and coadapted beneficial microbes in response to elevated CO2 (eCO2) will facilitate the identification of nutrient‐efficient cultivars for sustainable agriculture. Here, systematic morphological, anatomical, chemical and gene expression assays performed under low‐nitrogen ...

Chemical characterization of the gallium(III) and indium(III) thiocyanate systems in aqueous and dimethylsulfoxide solution

open access: yes, 2008
The decomposition of the thiocyanate ion in acidic aqueous solution disturbs the complex formation reactions with gallium(III) and indium(III) to such an extent that any accurate stability constants cannot be obtained.

Probing skin photoallergens in reconstructed human epidermis: An EPR spin trapping investigation

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 275-281, March/April 2025.
We present an original proof‐of‐concept methodology to probe radical generation from allergens in contact with photoexposed skin, using electron paramagnetic resonance and spin trapping in a reconstructed human epidermis model mimicking real‐life exposure scenarios.

Characterisation of the Pterin Molybdenum Cofactor in Dimethylsulfoxide Reductase of Rhodobacter capsulatus and the periplasmic Nitrate Reductase of Paracoccus denitrificans

open access: yes, 1997
Analysis of dimethylsulfoxide reductase from Rhodobacter capsulatus showed that it contained 1 mol Mo and 2 mol GMP. This indicates that the molybdenum cofactor in dimethylsulfoxide reductase is bis(molybdopterin guanine dinucleotide) molybdenum.

Progeroid syndrome patients with ZMPSTE24 deficiency could benefit when treated with rapamycin and dimethylsulfoxide

open access: yes, 2017
Patients with progeroid syndromes such as mandibuloacral dysplasia, type B (MADB) and restrictive dermopathy (RD) harbor mutations in zinc metalloproteinase (ZMPSTE24), an enzyme essential for posttranslational proteolysis of prelamin A to form mature ...

Suitability of Blended Ionic Liquid‐Dimethylsulfoxide Electrolyte for Lithium‐Oxygen Battery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Electrolytes composed of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (EMI TFSI) and LiClO are characterized for application in lithium-oxygen batteries.
