Molybdate-dependent expression of dimethylsulfoxide reductase in Rhodobacter capsulatus

open access: yes, 2000
Expression of the dimethylsulfoxide respiratory (dor) operon of Rhodobacter is regulated by oxygen, light intensity and availability of substrate. Since dimethylsulfoxide reductase contains a pterin molybdenum cofactor, the role of molybdate in the ...

Synergistic Se‐Doping and Accompanying S‐Vacancies Drive Lattice Distortion and p‐Band Modulation for Enhanced Sodium Storage in Sulfides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Se‐doping in sulfides facilitates the creation of S vacancies. The collaboration of Se‐doping and S vacancies not only induces lattice distortion to weaken the M─S bonds and lift the p‐band center for improved Na+ adsorption, but also increases the number of charge carriers for an improved electronic conductivity.

Phenotypic characterisation and genetic complementation of dimethylsulfoxide respiratory mutants of Rhodobacter sphaeroides and Rhodobacter capsulatus

open access: yes, 1995
Two chlorate resistant mutants of Rhodobacter sphaeroides were isolated which were deficient in dimethylsulfoxide reductase activity. Immunoblotting experiments showed that the phenotype of these mutants and that of Rhodobacter capsulatus strain DK9, a ...

Bidirectional Photoswitching of a Tailored Azobenzene with Red and Far‐Red Light Involving Triplet Sensitization in an Aqueous System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The action spectrum of a tailored azobenzene is shifted toward bio‐optical window through the chemical modification of its singlet and triplet energy levels. Consequently, the bidirectional photo‐switching of azobenzene in physiological conditions is achieved when excited by red and far‐red light, which offers greater tissue penetration.

Electrochemical reduction of aromatic sulfinic acids in dimethylsulfoxide

open access: yes, 1997
The electrochemical reduction of benzenesulfinic, p-toluenesulfinic, and p-nitrobenzenesulfinic acids was studied in dimethylsulfoxide solutions. From cyclic voltammetry experiments, a chemical reaction following the first electron transfer was detected ...

Non-linear optic properties of colloids prepared by metal targets’ laser ablation in dimethylsulfoxide

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы
A set of colloids on the base of aluminum, nickel, and zinc was prepared by their targets’ ablation in dimethylsulfoxide medium. The samples were characterized with UV-vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering ...

Octakis(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)cerium(III) μ6-oxido-dodeca-μ2-oxido-hexaoxidohexamolybdate(VI) dimethyl sulfoxide tetrasolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
The title complex, [Ce(C2H6OS)8]2[Mo6O19]3·4C2H6OS, was obtained as a byproduct of the reaction of [(C4H9)4N]2[Mo6O19] with Ce(NO3)3·6H2O and phthalic acid in dimethylsulfoxide solution.

Fluorescence Tuning of Carbon Dots from Red to Blue via UV‐Induced Photochemical Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A UV‐driven photochemical process enables continuous color evolution of carbon dots from red to blue using a single irradiation parameter. Progressive photoetching restructures graphitic domains and surface states, allowing full visible‐spectrum emission control.

Dimethylsulfoxide-induced trinuclear Co(II) and Ni(II) salamo-type complexes: Syntheses, crystal structures and spectral properties

open access: yes, 2018
Two homotrinuclear Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, [{CoL(OAc)(DMSO)}2Co]·2DMSO and [{NiL(OAc)(DMSO)}2Ni] have been synthesized by the reaction of 4,4′-dichloro-2,2′-[(1,3-propylene)dioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L) with cobalt(II) and nickel(II ...
