Regulation of Conidiation, Dimorphic Transition, and Microsclerotia Formation by MrSwi6 Transcription Factor in Dimorphic Fungus Metarhizium rileyi

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2019
Microsclerotia (MS) produced in the liquid culture of the dimorphic insect pathogen Metarhizium rileyi can be used as a mycoinsecticide. Bioinformatics analysis demonstrated that the cell cycle signaling pathway was involved in regulating MS formation.

The role of diclofenac sodium in the dimorphic transition in Candida albicans

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2010
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits filamentation in Candida albicans. Here we examined the effect of diclofenac sodium on hypha formation in C. albicans. The C. albicans cells were treated with various concentrations of diclofenac sodium (50, 100, 200 and 500microg/ml) and incubated at 37 degrees C for 2h.

Changes in cyclic nucleotide levels and dimorphic transition in Candida albicans

Journal of Bacteriology, 1980
The relationship between the levels of cyclic nucleotides and dimorphic transition in Candida albicans was examined. The results showed that cells of this pathogenic fungus contained both cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine 3',5'-monophosphate (cGMP), the concentration of the latter being about one-tenth that of the former ...

pH and Not Cell Morphology Modulate pLIP2 Induction in the Dimorphic Yeast Yarrowia lipolytica

open access: yesCurrent Microbiology, 2017
The dimorphic yeast Yarrowia lipolytica has become an emerging cell factory for recombinant proteins production. Expression vectors involving LIP2 promoter (pLIP2) have been developed and used successfully.

Morphology transition genes in the dimorphic fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces japonicus

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2007
The ability of the saprophytic fungus Schizosaccharomyces japonicus to alternate between unicellular yeast form and multicellular true mycelium makes this organism an attractive non-pathogenic model for the investigation of di- and polymorphism critical for pathogenicity in many pathogenic fungi.

Studies on Phase Transitions in the Dimorphic Pathogen Histoplasma capsulatum

1985
Histoplasma capsulatum, the etiological agent of histoplasmosis, is a dimorphic pathogenic fungus. The disease histoplasmosis occurs in many different parts of the world, but has a particularly high prevalence in temperate and subtropical zones such as the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys of the United States, South and Central America, parts of the ...

Transcriptional analysis of the dimorphic fungus Umbilicaria muehlenbergii reveals the molecular mechanism of phenotypic transition

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2023
The lichen-forming fungus Umbilicaria muehlenbergii undergoes a phenotypic transition from a yeast-like to a pseudohyphal form. However, it remains unknown if a common mechanism is involved in the phenotypic switch of U. muehlenbergii at the transcriptional level. Further, investigation of the phenotype switch molecular mechanism in U.

Phase Transition and Stage-Specific Protein Synthesis in the Dimorphic Fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis

Experimental Mycology, 1994
Morphological and molecular aspects of the dimorphic pathogenic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, strain Pb 01, were investigated in vitro. Morphological alterations during temperature shifts were preceded by significant changes in protein synthesis during the yeast → mycelium (36°C → 26°C) transition.

[Phase transition in dimorphic fungi].

Biofizika, 2001
The morphogenetic process, the transition from the micelial to fungal growth phase in imperfect microscopic dimorphic fungi Phaeococcomyces de Hoog (strain Ch49), induced by high concentrations of transition metal ions, was considered in terms of the phase transition theory.

Dimorphism, phase transitions, and transport properties in LiZr2(PO4)3

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1989
The authors report the structure, the phase transitions, and the transport properties of two different phases of LiZr{sub 2}(PO{sub 4}){sub 3} materials prepared by the sol/gel technique. The phase have been characterized by X-ray powder diffractometry, thermal analysis, ac conductivity, and NMR ({sup 31}P and {sup 7}Li).
