Precisely Printing Perovskite Nanocrystals in Glass via Thermoelectric Synergistic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the direct migration and enrichment of Cs ions in glass driven by thermoelectric fields, a novel method has been developed to achieve controllable crystallization and patterned distribution of CsPbBr3 PNCs in stable glass. The distribution scale of PNCs strongly depends on the thermoelectric processing conditions (temperature, electric field ...

Tailored D‐π Conjugation Boosts Piezocatalytic CO2 Reduction in a Platinum(II)‐Acetylide Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The highly conjugated metalII‐acetylide framework demonstrates efficient ultrasound‐driven conversion of CO2 to CO. The piezoelectric field generated by ultrasound facilitates electron transfer from the tetraphenylene π‐column to the MII‐bis(acetylide) moiety, enabling CO2 activation. Compared to PdII‐ and NiII‐based analogues, the stronger d–π orbital

Single‐Cell Annotation and Localization via Integrating Spatial Transcriptomics Maps the Mouse Ocular Atlas and RAO Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed the ASCAL pipeline, integrating complementary spatial transcriptomics, to construct a high‐fidelity mouse whole‐eye single‐cell atlas. Applying ASCAL to a retinal artery occlusion (RAO) model revealed spatially restricted immune activation localized to the ganglion cell layer and the selective depletion of a translationally active, outer ...

A Touch-Dim Network for the Dimming Control of Lighting System

2010 International Conference on Computational Aspects of Social Networks, 2010
DALI is a popular interface of lighting network system with an excellent dimming facility, but it is too complicated when it is applied in family house. Touch-Dim installation of DALI ballast is then developed. The installation and operation are much simplified but the network function is no more valid.

Vision in dim light

Nature, 1997
On testing my own vision in very dim light I observed two phenomena associated with the lack of retinal rods (the receptors specialized for vision in dim light) in the fovea, the region corresponding to our centre of gaze. First, a bright (or dark) straight line passing through the fovea was seen as discontinuous, with a clear 1° gap.

The dim future of the book

info, 1999
Stresses that books and reading as we know it are “old hat” and that electronic media is the newer, faster and cheaper way for creativity to go. Reckons that far from backing away we should embrace the new media in all its phases.
