2,4 Dinitrophenol as Medicine [PDF]
In the sanctity of pure drug discovery, objective reasoning can become clouded when pursuing ideas that appear unorthodox, but are spot on physiologically. To put this into historical perspective, it was an unorthodox idea in the 1950’s to suggest that warfarin, a rat poison, could be repositioned into a breakthrough drug in humans to protect against ...

Spectrophotometric Study of Acid-Base Equilibria in Non-Aqueous Solvents [PDF]
The equilibrium constants for the reaction of 2,6-dichloro-4- -nitrophenol, 2,6-dinitrophenol, 2,5-dinitrophenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol with some aliphatic amines of different structures have been determined spectrophotometrically in chlorobenzene, ethyl ...

Following the demonstration by C. Heymans1 and others that α-dinitrophenol (1-2-4) produces fever in experimental animals, we have attempted to determine the cause of the rise of temperature, the effects on various functions, and its possible therapeutic applications.Dinitrophenol produces fever in pigeons, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and man, in doses ...

Chromatography of dinitrophenols
