A modified diode clamped inverter with reduced number of switches

2018 9th Annual Power Electronics, Drives Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2018
This paper presents a novel multilevel inverter with reduced number of switches based on a modification to conventional diode clamped inverter. Diode clamped inverter is a well-known and wide-spread multilevel inverter among other inverters. Therefore, it has been modified in this paper to use fewer number of components to generate the same output ...

Five-Level Diode-Clamped Inverter With Three-Level Boost Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014
This paper proposes an active front-end solution to balance the dc-link capacitor voltage of the five-level diode-clamped inverter. Capacitor voltage balancing is performed by a three-level boost converter connected to the two inner capacitors of a five-level diode-clamped inverter and additional balancing circuits at the other two outer capacitors ...

Diode Clamped Multilevel Inverter Based on Arduino Microcontroller

2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE), 2021
This paper presents a single-phase Neutral point diode clamped (NPC) inverter module. Consists of single-cell connected to three equal DC power supply. This inverter also contains several semiconductor switches in which the process of direct voltage is reversed to the alternative wave in the output.

A new diode clamping multilevel inverter

APEC '99. Fourteenth Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition. 1999 Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36285), 1999
This paper proposes a new diode clamping multilevel Inverter, which gets rid of the need for series association of the clamping diodes in the conventional diode clamping multilevel inverter. The new diode clamping inverter utilizes the same number of switches and diodes as the conventional one for synthesizing an inverter of a given level.

Fundamentals of a new diode clamping multilevel inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2000
The conventional diode clamping inverter suffers from such problems as DC link unbalance, indirect clamping of the inner devices, turn-on snubbing of the inner DC rails as well as series association of the clamping diodes etc. It is due largely to these problems that the application of the conventional diode clamping inverter in practice has been ...

Comparative Harmonic Analysis of Diode Clamped Multi-Level Inverter

2018 3rd International Conference On Internet of Things: Smart Innovation and Usages (IoT-SIU), 2018
Power quality has been main issue among the consumers nowadays. The consumer devices are based on power electronics devices for better efficiency which tend to introduce various current harmonics in our power system at the point of common coupling. With the accession of renewable energy sources as the better and environment friendly alternative to meet

Analysis of the three-level diode-clamped split-source inverter

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
This paper studies the integration of the two-level split-source inverter (SSI) concept into the three-level diode-clamped inverter configuration. The proposed three-level diode-clamped-based SSI (3L-DC-SSI) uses two isolated dc sources, two inductors, two capacitors, and six input diodes with the three-level diode-clamped bridge.
