SUMMARYThe distribution of diosgenin in Dioscorea deltoidea Wallich and D. sylvatica Ecklon at successive stages of growth is described. Diosgenin occurs in the cotyledon‐endosperm of the dormant seeds, and in the tubers, roots, stems and leaves of plants from the seedling stage onwards.
