Dipeptidyl peptidase IV‐β (DPP IV‐β) is a novel protein which shows a peptidase activity similar to the T‐cell‐activation antigen CD26. To further characterize this DPP IV‐β and confirm its cell surface expression, we have developed a purification strategy using the CD26− cell line C8166.

To obtain selective and potent inhibitors of dipeptidyl peptidases 8 and 9, we synthesized a series of substituted isoindolines as modified analogs of allo-Ile-isoindoline, the reference DPP8/9 inhibitor. The influence of phenyl substituents and different P2 residues on the inhibitors' affinity toward other DPPs and more specifically, their potential ...

Dipeptidyl peptidase in autoimmune pathophysiology
2011CD26 is a 110-kDa surface glycoprotein with intrinsic dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) activity that is expressed on various cell types and has many biological functions. An important aspect of CD26 biology is its peptidase activity and its functional and physical association with molecules with key roles in human immunological programs.

Natural Substrates of Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV
2002During the last decade it has become clear that DPP IV may have various substrates in vivo and that the preferred peptide will depend on the localization and physiological circumstances. It is at present impossible to depict a certain chain length as the maximal acceptable substrate size as it turns out that the immediate surrounding and surface ...

Dipeptidyl peptidase IV in tumor progression
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2005Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) is a 110-kDa glycoprotein with ubiquitous expression. Several recent studies have shown that DPPIV affects tumor progression in several human malignancies. We found that ovarian carcinoma cell lines with higher DPPIV expression showed less invasive potential.

Dipeptidyl peptidases in human muscle disease
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1978With the use of selective inhibitors of arylamidase, four dipeptyl peptidases (I, II, III, and IV) capable of hydrolyzing the beta-naphthylamides of Gly-Arg, Lys-Ala, Arg-Arg and Gly-Pro, respectively, were distinguished in homogenates of human muscle. Dipeptidyl peptidase I showed maximum activity at pH 5.0-6.0.

Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors
2016Dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 inhibitors inhibit the activity of the enzyme responsible for the initial rapid degradation of the incretin hormones, thereby enhancing their antihyperglycemic effects.

Dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors.
IDrugs : the investigational drugs journal, 2003The patent literature for dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) inhibitors for the period of January 2001 to May 2002 is reviewed. There has been increased interest in DPP-IV inhibitors since their potential for the treatment of diabetes was identified. This review will focus on reversible inhibitors of the enzyme, for which the primary interest has been ...
