All resonator based LTCC diplexer using substrate integrated waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A compact diplexer is implemented in Low-Temperature-Cofired-Ceramic (LTCC) technology and consists of six coupled Substrate-Integrated-Waveguide (SIW) cavity resonators stacked in two layers. No transmission-line based junction is used.

Observation of a DC Bias Voltage Dependence of Second‐Order Harmonics in Temperature Compensated Surface Acoustic Wave Resonators

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This article reports the variation of second‐order harmonics (H2) with the DC bias voltage (DCBV) in surface acoustic wave resonators employing the SiO2/LiNbO3 structure. On the other hand, linear and third‐order nonlinear responses scarcely changed with DCBV. Possible origins of this phenomenon are also discussed.

Design of Miniaturized SIW Filter Loaded with Open-Loop Resonators and Its Application to Diplexer [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2020
This paper presents a novel design of miniaturized substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) filter loaded with a pair of unit-cell resonators. Two identical open-loop resonators are connected face-to-face to form a unit-cell. A pair of unit-cells is engraved

Reflectionless Linearly/Circularly Polarised Patch Antenna Based on Loading Complementary Absorptive Branches

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This letter proposes reflectionless linearly and circularly polarised patch antennas based on loading complementary absorptive branches. By establishing the equivalent circuit model of a conventional patch antenna, the complementary absorptive branch could be designed to dissipate the out‐of‐band energy through the grounded resistor, thereby achieving ...

Filter Design Using Ultra‐Miniaturised Substrate‐Integrated Coaxial Cavity

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The proposed substrate‐integrated coaxial cavity (SICC) comprises two dielectric substrates with three metal layers. The top and bottom metal layers form the cavity's broadside walls, and the middle is a circular patch that shorts to the bottom wall and to an embedded split CPW ring, respectively, through a blind‐via ring and three blind vias.

Cross‐Polarisation Suppression in Self‐Diplexing Antennas

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
An approach to improve cross‐polarisation (XP) radiation in probe‐fed microstrip antennas is presented in this letter. The notable XP associated with self‐diplexing antennas caused by radiator multiplexing is discussed for the first time. In order to enhance the interport isolation and polarisation purity, the proposed antenna exploits the combined ...

Realisation of an E‐Plane Metal‐Insert Filter at E‐Band Based on Multi‐Layer Waveguide With Pin Array Electromagnetic Band Gap

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
A multi‐layer waveguide (MLW) bandpass filter is realised by stacking thin metal layers at E‐band. ABSTRACT In this paper, a multi‐layer waveguide (MLW) bandpass filter is realised by stacking thin metal layers at E‐band. In order to eliminate the leakage between layers, an electromagnetic band gap (EBG) pin array is utilised.

Design of SIW‐Based Compact and High‐Gain Filtenna Array for W‐Band

open access: yesInternational Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This paper proposes a compact and high‐gain filtenna array based on substrate‐integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for the W‐band (75–110 GHz) high‐speed wireless communication systems and imaging/detection systems. By utilizing the high integration of SIW technology, the SIW filter, butterfly slot antenna array, and patch antenna array are vertically
