Summary Spermiogenesis and sperm ultrastructure of Diplodon chilensis chilensis have been studied. Early spermatids show some peculiar characteristics which include scanty cytoplasm mitochondria restricted to a juxtanuclear region and a poorly developed Golgi complex, a feature present throughout spermiogenesis.
