The Culture of Diplostomum spathaceum Metacercariae on the Chick Chorioallantois
The Journal of Parasitology, 1986Metacercariae (2,828) obtained from the lens of naturally infected Aplodinotus grunniens were transplanted onto chorioallantoic membranes (CAM's) of 94 eggs (means 30/egg) 5 to 12 days old. Membranes were examined 2 to 8 days later and 381 flukes were recovered.

Penetration and Migration Success of Diplostomum spp. Cercariae in Arctic Charr
Journal of Parasitology, 2010We exposed 2 groups of young-of-the-year Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) singly to 54 +/- 2 (mean +/- SE) Diplostomum spp. cercariae that had emerged from 4 randomly sampled snail hosts (Lymnaea stagnalis). The rearing tanks of the fish received Diplostomum spp.

Reizphysiologische Untersuchungen an Cercarien von Diplostomum spathaceum
Zeitschrift fr Vergleichende Physiologie, 19691.

Migration of Diplostomum spathaceum (trematoda) in the fish intermediate host
Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde, 1974The migratory route of Diplostomum spathaceum to the eye lens of the fish host was determined by examining fishes killed at various times after infection in the laboratory by immersion in water containing cercariae. Migration occurred mostly in subcutaneous connective tissue and muscles of the trunk.

Katepsiny L cerkárií Diplostomum pseudospathaceum
2015This study is focused on cercarial cysteine peptidases of the trematode Diplostomum pseudospathaceum. It follows previous research which confirmed the presence of a 24kDa cysteine peptidase in cercariae biochemically and by mass spectrometry. It was postulated, that the function of this peptidase is histolytic, when cercariae penetrate the tissues ...

The article provides the description of the Diplostomum rutili Razmashkin, 1969 cercariae from spontaneously infected crimean population mollusks Lymnaea stagnalis Linnaeus, 1758 and the metacercariae experimentally obtained in the juveniles of the roach, Rutilus rutilus Linnaeus, 1758. Some distinguishing features of the cercaria are noted.
