Optical properties of a disordered metallic film: local versus collective phenomena

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
We apply the dual-variable approach to the problem of the optical response of a disordered film of metal particles with dipole–dipole interaction. Long-range dipole–dipole interaction makes the effect of spatial correlations significant, so that the dual-

Dipole dynamics of an interacting bosonic mixture

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We unravel the coupled dipole dynamics of a two-species Bose-Einstein condensate with tunable interspecies interaction. We produce a degenerate mixture of ^{41}K-^{87}Rb in an optical trap and we study the dipole oscillations of both atomic species in ...

Resonant dipole-dipole interactions in electromagnetically induced transparency

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2022
Resonant dipole-dipole interaction (RDDI) is ubiquitous in light-matter interacting systems and is responsible for many fascinating properties of collective radiations. Here we theoretically investigate the role of RDDI in electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT).

Phase transitions in dipolar spin-1 Bose gases

open access: yes, 2011
We study phase transitions in homogeneous spin-1 Bose gases in the presence of long-range magnetic dipole-dipole interactions (DDI). We concentrate on three-dimensional geometries and employ momentum shell renormalization group to study the possible ...

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Entanglement between atom interacting with a thermal field of a lossless cavity and a free atom

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2018
In the present paper we studied the entanglement of a quantum system consisting of two dipole-coupled two-level atoms, one of which interacts with one-mode thermal field in a lossless cavity, and another is outside a cavity.

Electric Octupole-Dependent Contributions to Optical Binding Energy

open access: yesPhysics
Contributions to the radiation-induced dispersion energy shift between two interacting particles dependent on the electric octupole moment are calculated using a physical picture in which moments induced by applied fluctuating electromagnetic fields are ...

Resonance Interaction Induced by Metal Surfaces Catalyses Atom Pair Breakage

open access: yes, 2013
We present the theory for retarded resonance interaction between two identical atoms at arbitrary positions near a metal surface. The dipole-dipole resonance interaction force that binds isotropically excited atom pairs together in free space may turn ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by
