Experiments with dipole antennas

European Journal of Physics, 2009
Employment of a data-acquisition system for data collection and calculations makes experiments with antennas more convenient and less time consuming. The determined directional patterns of the dipole antennas of different lengths are in reasonable agreement with theory.

A generalized crossed dipole antenna, the Fourtear antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium, 2004., 2004
A generalized form of a crossed dipole antenna, the Fourtear antenna, has been designed and tested. The Fourtear antenna is a promising dual-polarized broadband antenna element. The antenna consists of four identical teardrop elements, but the horizontal elements are positioned perpendicular to the vertical elements. The radiating element is printed on

Miniaturization of the folded dipole antenna

2008 12th International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory, 2008
The revolution of antennas technology is increasingly requiring strict electric characteristics of antennas that can provide ideal performance in different telecommunication systems, such as monitoring systems, mobile systems, and space technology systems.

Orthogonal infrared dipole antenna

Infrared Physics & Technology, 2008
A dual-dipole structure is demonstrated at 10.6 μm, which facilitates electronic cancellation of the non-antenna-coupled thermal response of an infrared antenna-coupled bolometer. Structures of this type may also find utility in high-spatial-resolution measurement of Stokes parameters of a beam of radiation.

A non-planar dipole antenna

IEE-IERE Proceedings - India, 1971
A centre-fed dipole antenna with one arm inclined through an angle α1 to its axis (which lies along Z axis) in Y-Z plane and the other arm inclined by an angle α2 in X-Z plane is analysed. The far field analysis predicted that the radiated far field is multipolarised with E vectors along X, Y and Z axes.

Broadband Dipole Antennas

2014
In this chapter we will study some simple dipole type configurations that can provide a broader bandwidth: the cylindrical dipole and biconical antenna. In addition, the chapter introduces the folded dipole antenna, which can provide better matching characteristics than that of the single dipole.

Subpicosecond photoconducting dipole antennas

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1988
Photoconducting antennas have been demonstrated which are capable of generating and coherently detecting subpicosecond electrical pulses. These antennas, when illuminated with femtosecond optical pulses, radiate electrical pulses which have frequency spectra that extend from 2 THz.

The slot antenna with coupled dipoles

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1960
The problem of an array consisting of a slot antenna and two symmetrically-located cylindrical dipoles is formulated. The approximate distribution of the current along each antenna is obtained by a method of iteration. The radiation function, the coupling coefficients between the slot and the dipole, the relation between the magnetic current in the ...
