Direct-coupled DC-40 GHz amplifier for high-speed data communication system

33rd European Microwave Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03EX723C), 2003
The millimeter wave transport over fiber needs more and more bandwidth according to SONET norm which must be able to propagate baseband modulated digital signal. This paper presents a modulator driver which is a direct-coupled amplifier to overcome the frequency limitations due to the link capacitors.

A 30 GHz bandwidth AlGaAs-GaAs HBT direct-coupled feedback amplifier

IEEE Microwave and Guided Wave Letters, 1991
A DC to 30 GHz broadband amplifier based on the Darlington connected transistors with series and shunt resistive feedback was implemented with self-aligned AlGaAs-GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology. The measured performance shows 7.8 dB of gain with -3-dB roll-off bandwidth of 30 GHz. Measured at 1 GHz, the noise figure was 5.7 dB,

A Drift-Free Direct-Coupled Amplifier Utilizing A Clipper-RC Feedback Loop

IRE Transactions on Broadcast and Television Receivers, 1959
A unique drift-free direct-coupled amplifier has been developed employing a clipper and an RC integrating circuit in a feedback loop for stability. Equations are developed and computed and experimental curves are given for amplitude and phase-shift response as a function of frequency showing an extremely sharp power drop-off at the low end.

A High-Speed Direct-Coupled Magnetic Memory Sense Amplifier Employing Tunnel-Diode Discriminators

IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1963
Because of a multiplicity of conflicting requirements, sense amplifier design is probably the most difficult circuit problem in a large, high-speed digital computer memory. The requirements include absence of pattern sensitivity, controllable input impedance, a wide band pass, stable gain, high common mode rejection, the ability to handle bipolar ...

Monolithic GaAs direct-coupled amplifiers

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1981
Monolithic GaAs dc-coupled amplifiers with bandwidths up to 5 GHz are described. The multistage amplifiers include designs having 25-dB gain with 2-GHz bandwidth and 10-dB gain with 5-GHz bandwidth. Analysis of gain, bandwidth, and noise agrees with measurements.

Improved Direct-Coupled High-Bandwidth Voltage Amplifier for B-H Characterization of Magnetic Materials

IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems, 2022
B-H characteristics of magnetic materials are an essential input to the design of electrical machines and magnetics in power converters. Wide frequency range operation of machines and converters increasingly requires experimental characterization of the ...
