On the multiple-access capacity of multitone-CDMA communications [PDF]
This letter derives a bit-error-probability expression for an asynchronous multitone-code-division multiple access (CDMA) system and shows that the multiple-access (MA) capacity of this system is identical to that of a conventional (single-carrier ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Spread spectrum techniques for indoor wireless IR communications [PDF]
Multipath dispersion and fluorescent light interference are two major problems in indoor wireless infrared communications systems. Multipath dispersion introduces intersymhol interference at data rates above 10 Mb/s, while fluorescent light induces ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

On SNR as a Measure of Performance for Narrowband Interference Rejection in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Systems [PDF]
The usefulness of SNR as a figure of merit to quantify the narrowband interference rejection capability of a DS receiver is examined. The interference considered is a peaked autoregressive Gaussian process. The probability of error and SNR estimates of a

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

RAKE receiver for the UMTS system [PDF]
Tato práce se zabývá teoretickým popisem dějů probíhajících v systému UMTS při práci se signálem, jeho rozprostřením za použití modulační techniky DS SS(direct sequence spread spectrum) a následným zpracováním signálů v RAKE přijímači.

Performance of Generalized Lapped Transform (GLT) Based CDMA System in a Multi-Path Fading Channel [PDF]
We investigate the performance of a new class of spreading codes in a direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS/CDMA) system. The spreading and despreading codes are generated from a biorthogonal filter bank whose outputs are of continuous values.
