Direct agglutination test for diagnosis of Toxoplasma infection: method for increasing sensitivity and specificity [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 1980
A method that increases the sensitivity and specificity of the direct agglutination (AG) test for diagnosis of Toxoplasma gondii infection is described. Qualitative results in the Sabin-Feldman dye test (DT) and AG test were in excellent agreement (98%).

Leishmaniasis direct agglutination test: using pictorials as training materials to reduce inter-reader variability and improve accuracy. [PDF]

open access: goldPLoS Negl Trop Dis, 2012
Background The Direct Agglutination Test (DAT) has a high diagnostic accuracy and remains, in some geographical areas, part of the diagnostic algorithm for Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL).

Comparative Analysis of Microscopy, Leishmanin Skin Test (LST), and Direct Agglutination Test (DAT) for the Diagnosis of Human Cutaneous Leishmaniasis [PDF]

open access: goldIranian Journal of Parasitology
Background: Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) is a highly infectious parasitic disease in Iran. Although various diagnostic methods are available, identifying a sensitive and specific approach remains essential for effective treatment and disease management.

Direct agglutination test and other assays for measuring antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii. [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Clinical Pathology, 1989
The performance of a direct agglutination test for the detection of toxoplasma specific IgG immunoglobulin was compared with that of the latex agglutination test. The direct agglutination test was less sensitive but more specific than the latex agglutination test.

Evaluation of the direct agglutination test and the rK39 dipstick test for the sero-diagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis [PDF]

open access: diamondMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2002
The direct agglutination test (DAT) based on a freeze-dried antigen and the rK39 dipstick test were evaluated for the sero-diagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis (VL).

Field Evaluation of rK39 Test and Direct Agglutination Test for Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis in a Population with High Prevalence of Human Immunodeficiency Virus in Ethiopia [PDF]

open access: bronzeAmerican Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2009
Accuracy of an rK39 rapid diagnostic test (DiaMed-IT-Leish ) for visceral leishmaniasis (VL) was compared with splenic aspiration and the direct agglutination test (DAT) in a population with a high prevalence of infection with human immunodeficiency ...

Evaluation of Direct Agglutination Test, rk39 Test, and ELISA for the Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2008
The study reports an evaluation of the direct agglutination test (DAT) with use of promastigote/amastigote antigen, rk39 strip test, and ELISA for diagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Out of 94 clinically suspected VL patients, 16 (17%) were seropositive by all the techniques; in addition, 6 were positive in rk39 strip test and ELISA.

Local Production of a Liquid Direct Agglutination Test as a Sustainable Measure for Control of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Sudan. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Trop Med Hyg, 2016
A prerequisite for the control of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is the accessibility to reference diagnostics. The high price of the freeze-dried direct agglutination test (FD-DAT) and the short shelf-life time of the rK39 strip test (rK39) have limited ...
