Prozone phenomenon in the direct agglutination test for pregnancy
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1971The prozone phenomeon in the direct agglutination test for pregnancy takes place when urinary concentration of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) reaches 125000 IU/l. It is responsible for some false nagative reactions. In order to eliminate false negative results in normal pregnancies a trifold dilution of negative urines is recommended.

An Evaluation of the Direct Agglutination Test for Chagas' Disease
The Journal of Parasitology, 1974In the direct agglutination (DA) test, nonspecific agglutination with Trypanosoma cmzi antigen suspensions has been controlled by treating the organisms with trypsin, formalin, and filtration. The resultant antigen suspension containing treated T. cruzi epimastigotes is a sensitive and stable preparation for use in the DA test.

Further Studies with the Direct Latex Agglutination Test in Tuberculosis1
American Review of Respiratory Disease, 1969During a four-year study with direct latex agglutination tuberculosis, many properties of this test were clarified. A serologically active tuberculoprotein antigen was prepared that is stable in the lyophilized state. In order to eliminate spontaneous agglutination, which results in false positive readings, the test was set up in two series of tubes ...

Serology has an important role to play in the diagnosis of the severe clinical syndrome of visceral leishmaniasis (VL). The direct agglutination test (DAT), a simple agglutination test which requires no laboratory facilities, has become the preferred test, particularly for field studies.

Evaluation of a direct agglutination latex particle test for human chorionic gonadotropin
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1969Abstract A direct agglutination latex particle slide test for HCG has been evaluated. This test uses latex particles coated with anti-HCG as the only reagent. It is convenient to use and requires only 2 minutes to perform. In our series it had an accuracy rate (about 98 per cent) comparable to the presently available pregnancy tests. This test may be

[Standardization of a direct agglutination test for the immunodiagnosis of Chagas disease].
Biomedica : revista del Instituto Nacional de Salud, 2014INTRODUCTION Chagas' disease is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi and its immunological diagnosis is mainly based on the detection of antibodies against T. cruzi using tests such as the ELISA, the indirect fluorescence antibody test (IFAT) and the

Evaluation of the direct agglutination test as an immunodiagnostic tool for kala-azar in India
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1993The direct agglutination test (DAT) has been assessed as a diagnostic procedure for visceral leishmaniasis. Fifty-six of 58 sera (96.5%) from confirmed cases of visceral leishmaniasis, whose bone marrow aspirates contained Leishmania donovani amastigotes, had agglutinating antibodies above the cut-off titre of 1:800.

The usefulness and sensitivity of a direct agglutination test (DAT) in the diagnosis of cutaneous leishmaniasis due to Leishmania aethiopica infection has been investigated. Formalin-fixed, trypsin-treated and Coomassie blue-stained Leishmania promastigotes of various origins were used as antigens. L. major, L. donovani, L.
