Green Synthesis of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Using Plant Extracts: Applications in Catalysis and Biomedicine

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The green synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) using plant‐based resources has gained significant traction as an environmentally benign, cost‐effective, and scalable alternative to traditional chemical and physical methods. This review comprehensively explores the plant‐mediated synthesis routes for a variety of MONPs, including CuO,

Making Blank Faces Expressive: Chemical Approaches to the Modification of Chemically Inert Peptides

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
As an alternative to the conventional approach, which combines amino acid monomers in a one‐by‐one fashion to peptide derivatives, the chemical modification of existing peptides has attracted significant attention in recent years. However, such approaches generally target the reactive functional groups in cysteine and lysine residues, particularly in ...

Reactivity of bromoselenophenes in palladium-catalyzed direct arylations

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
The reactivity of 2-bromo- and 2,5-dibromoselenophenes in Pd-catalyzed direct heteroarylation was investigated. From 2-bromoselenophene, only the most reactive heteroarenes could be employed to prepare 2-heteroarylated selenophenes; whereas, 2,5 ...

Direct‐to‐Biology: Streamlining the Path From Chemistry to Biology in Drug Discovery

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 4, 25 February 2026.
Crude yet clever: Direct‐to‐biology workflows exploit nanoscale synthesis and plate‐based assays to accelerate hit discovery, save precious intermediates, and rethink early drug discovery. Direct‐to‐biology (D2B) has emerged as a transformative concept in early drug discovery, defined by the direct on‐target screening of crude reaction mixtures without

T‐Shaped 8‐Aryl(ethynyl)‐Substituted Psoralens With Tunable Charge‐Transfer Absorption

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 8, 25 February 2026.
Starting from 8‐methoxypsoralen, new 8‐arylated and 8‐alkynylated psoralen derivatives are accessible by cross‐coupling. These T‐shaped π‐expanded chromophores are luminescent and photophysics reveal a highly polar excited state with tunable charge‐transfer character.

Transition Metal‐Driven Selectivity in Direct C−H Arylation of Imidazo[2,1‐b]Thiazole

open access: yesChemistryOpen
A selective direct arylation of the different Csp2‐H bonds of imidazo[2,1‐b]thiazole with (hetero) aryl halides can be achieved simply by switching from a palladium catalyst system to the use of stoichiometric amounts of copper. The observed selectivity,
