Method of testing polymer monofilaments for compressive deformability in the radial direction

Polymer Mechanics, 1974
A method and an apparatus for testing polymer monofilaments in short-time and long-time compressive creep in the radial direction are proposed. By this means it is possible to test five specimens simultaneously with indenters of selected shape at a constant givenload.

A Novel Method For Compressing Images Using Discrete Directional Transforms

SPIE Proceedings, 1988
The main purpose of this paper is to present a coding method based on a new class of transforms that will be named Directional Transforms (DT). The idea behind using DT is, that the picture content shall determine which one out of several - 16 used here - transforms will describe the picture most efficiently.

18—A COMPARISON OF A DIRECT AND AN INDIRECT METHOD OF MEASURING HOSIERY COMPRESSION

The Journal of The Textile Institute, 1979
A comparison is made of a direct method of measuring the compression provided by support hosiery, suitable for use in clinical studies, and an indirect method involving the measurement of hosiery tension, which may be suitable for use by hosiery manufacturers.

A Method for Direct Numerical Simulation of Compressible Boundary-Layer Transition

1992
A numerical method for computing three-dimensional time-dependent compressible transitional flow over a flat plate is presented. A direct comparison between Chebyshev and Pade schemes for the spatial derivative is made. The method is validated by comparison with linear instability theory. Some nonlinear results for a second mode in high supersonic flow

Direct simulation methods for compressible inviscid ideal-gas flow

Journal of Computational Physics, 1980
Abstract Two novel schemes are proposed for the calculation of compressible flow of an ideal fluid. One method is the equilibrium analog of the well-known discrete-particle direct simulation Monte Carlo method for the treatment of nonequilibrium ideal-gas flows.

Formulation development and optimization of Ibuprofen tablets by direct compression method.

Pakistan journal of pharmaceutical sciences, 2008
Ibuprofen is widely used as a prescription and non-prescription medicine. The aim of study is to prepare Ibuprofen tablets (200mg) using direct compression technique which is now days considered a cost effective and simple method of manufacturing. It is considered as an appropriate method for hygroscopic and thermolabile substances.
