Future Directions in Imaging Neurodegeneration

Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports, 2017
Neuroimaging comprises a powerful set of instruments to diagnose various neurodegenerative disorders, clarifies their neurobiology, and monitors their treatment. Magnetic resonance imaging depicts volume changes, as well as abnormalities in functional and structural connectivity.

Direct Imaging of Charge Modulation

Physical Review Letters, 1996
Electron diffraction calculation suggest that a modulation in the density of valence electrons may dominate the images of Bi{sub 2}Sr{sub 2}CaCu{sub 2}O{sub 8+{delta}} under certain experimental conditions. This prediction is supported by electron microscope experiments where we observe modulation that we attribute to charge transfer over a distance of

Direct Measures of the Retinal Image*

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1959
Direct measurement of acuity target images as formed by excised steer and cat eyes indicates the blur of the retinal image to be much greater than theoretically expected. For example, a 3-sec black line produces a retinal image of maximum contrast 0.5%.

Imaging Goal-Directed Movement

Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, 1995
The main purpose of the present investigation was to determine how Shepard's (1968) second-order isomorphic principle relates to imaging goal-directed movement. Reports of movement times for actual and imaged movements were obtained using Fitts-type tapping tasks.

Segmentation of fingerprint images using the directional image

Pattern Recognition, 1987
Abstract In this paper the concept of the directional image is introduced and its application for segmentation is presented. The directional image can be thought of as an image transform, where each pixel of the image represents direction of the local grey level uniformity.

Fingerprint Directional Image Enhancement

2011
This work presents an efficient algorithm to enhance the directional image. Orientation, as a global feature of fingerprint, is very important to image preprocessing methods used in automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS). Proposed algorithm consists of two weighted averaging stages over a neighborhood.

Future Directions in Molecular Imaging

2004
After the identification of new genes, functional information is required to investigate the role of these genes in living organisms. This can be done by analysis of gene expression, protein—protein interaction, or biodistribution of new molecules and may result in new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which include visualization of and ...
