Role of direct immunofluorescence on outer root sheath of hair follicle in monitoring disease activity of pemphigus vulgaris

open access: yesJournal of Pathology of Nepal, 2017
Background:   Since the outer root sheath of hair follicle is structurally analogous to epidermal keratinocytes, direct immunofluorescence of hair may be an alternate method for monitoring disease activity of pemphigus vulgaris. Our objective was to find

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A study of clinical, histopathological and direct immunofluorescence diagnosis in pemphigus group Utility of direct immunofluorescence

open access: yesBratislava Medical Journal, 2017
To determine the diagnostic accordance between histopathological and direct immunofluorescence diagnosis of patients with autoimmune vesiculobullous skin diseases. The term pemphigus refers to a group of autoimmune blistering diseases mediated by auto-antibodies directed against desmoglein proteins.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Paraneoplastic Pemphigus Associated with Retroperitoneal Sarcoma: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology
Paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) is a severe autoimmune blistering disorder commonly linked to lymphoproliferative neoplasms. We report a case of a 12-year-old girl with retroperitoneal sarcoma who developed PNP with extensive mucocutaneous involvement ...

Antigenic detection of bovine parainfluenzavirus- 3 in cattle with respiratory system ınfection and some risk factors [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences
Bovine Parainfluenzavirus-3 is one of the major viral pathogens that causes the respiratory system disease complex of cattle. In our study, it was aimed to detect the antigenicity of bovine parainfluenzavirus-3 by direct immunofluorescence method in ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
