Evaluation of the performance of penoxsulam for weed management in directseeded and transplanted rice (Oryza sativa)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014
A field experiment was conducted during rainy season of 2010 at the research farm of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi to evaluate the performance of penoxsulam for weed management in direct-seeded and transplanted rice.

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Effect of irrigation regime on grain yield, water productivity, and methane emissions in dry direct-seeded rice grown in raised beds with wheat straw incorporation

open access: yesCrop Journal, 2018
Dry direct-seeded rice grown in raised beds is becoming an important practice in the wheat–rice rotation system in China. However, little information has been available on the effect of various irrigation regimes on grain yield, water productivity (WP ...

Weed Control in Direct Seeded Rice Using Selected Herbicides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Selected herbicides for the control of weeds in direct seeded rice were studied. The phytotoxicity of the herbicides, 2, 4-D amine, 2, 4-DIBE-butachlor, butachlor, benthiocarb and molinate were evaluated in two studies using petri dishes and plastic ...

Delineating soil moisture dynamics as affected by tillage in wheat, Rice and establishment methods of rice during intervening period [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Intervening cropping period perhaps the most ignored period, which could be exploited for cultivating the intervening crops which further add to the soil, crop and water productivity and finally livelihood of the farmers of the region.

Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

Promotion of integrated weed management for direct-seeded rice on the Gangetic Plains of India [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Rice–wheat cropping is an effective use of land to maximise yields of vital cereal crops in India. However, the cropping system is facing constraints in part related to combining two crops with different growth habits and requirements. This project built

Seed phytochemicals shape the community structures of cultivable actinobacteria-inhabiting plant interiors of Thai pigmented rice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We examined abundance, bioactivity, and endophytism of cultivable actinobacteria isolated from plant interiors of two Thai pigmented rice cultivars: Hom Nin (HN) rice and Luem Pua (LP) glutinous rice.

Nitrogen management for direct wet-seeded rice

open access: yes, 2005
This article 'Nitrogen management for direct wet-seeded rice' appeared in the International Rice Research Notes series, created by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) to expedite communication among scientists concerned with the development of improved technology for rice and rice-based systems. The series is a mechanism to help scientists

Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.
