The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Cover crops in succession to corn for silage in cerrado conditions

open access: yesJournal of Bioenergy and Food Science, 2017
Although some studies on cover crops in grain production areas have been developed in recent years, information on cover crops in succession to corn silage are still scarce.

On farm experiments of direct seeding on crop residues southern Xayabury province [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Since the nineties, traditional farming systems in the southern districts of Xayabury province in the Mekong corridor, have changed through extensive agricultural development based on cash crop production.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Technological Parameter Optimization of Double-Press Precision Depth-Control Seeding and Its Application in Rice Production

open access: yesAgronomy
Current rice cultivation relies on mechanical transplanting, which is costly and complex, and direct seeding, which suffers from poor quality and low efficiency. To address these issues, a double-press precision depth-control seeding method was developed

Weed Control with Straw Residues in Occasional Direct Seeding of Faba Bean (Vicia faba sp.) in Organic Agriculture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In order to gain momentum in the consolidation process of no-tillage systems in Europe’s Organic Agriculture, occasional direct seeding (DS) of faba bean (FAB) into a mulch layer of residues from precrop oats should be scrutinized.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

L'agriculture brésilienne des fronts pionniers : I. La méthode de création-diffusion agricole. II.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Evaluating the need for an active depth-control system for direct seeding in Portugal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The research evaluated the need for an active depth-control system for direct seeding in Portugal. Through the use of an LVDT (linear variable differential transformer) there were observed wide variations on the seed deposition depth (from 17.1 mm to 29 ...
