Root Diseases of Wheat and Barley During the Transition from Conventional Tillage to Direct Seeding

open access: yes, 2006
The use of direct seeding (no-till) in place of tillage can reduce soil erosion and improve water infiltration. However, despite these improvements in soil quality, growers in the Pacific Northwest are reluctant to adopt direct seeding, partially because

Is it possible to extend the season for direct seeding of Scots pine and lodgepole pine in northern Fennoscandia?

open access: yesSilva Fennica
The aim of this study was to experimentally test the most favourable seeding times for Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), and to compare Scots pine and lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Douglas ex Loudon) in respect to suitable seeding times and site factors.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Direct seeding dry bean in Saskatchewan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Non-Peer ReviewedYields of direct-seeded and spring-cultivated narrow-row dry bean were comparable in two years in Saskatchewan. Either treatment appears to be an acceptable residue management practice for dry bean in this area.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

The Direct Seeding of Temperate, and Boreal Tree Species – A Review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This essay was written as a part of my PhD project and will serve to introduce me to the subject direct seeding of forest trees. The conventional method of using transplanted seedlings for forest regeneration is rather expensive and it would be ...
