Securing Machine‐Type Communications: A Survey on Privacy Threats and Countermeasures

open access: yesIET Information Security, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Machine‐type communication (MTC) is a fundamental enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT) and emerging 5G/6G networks, supporting massive deployments of heterogeneous and resource‐constrained devices. However, large‐scale data collection, persistent connectivity, and limited device capabilities introduce critical privacy challenges that are not ...

New Mechanisms of Resistance to CAA and OSBPI Fungicides in Phytophthora infestans

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 75, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
This study presents the first report of the mechanism behind mandipropamid resistance in Phytophthora infestans, the newly discovered presence of combined resistance to CAAs and OXTP in potato fields and recommendations for revised fungicide management strategies for potato late blight control. ABSTRACT Field observations from Denmark in 2021 suggested

Demodulating Subsampled Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Signals using Compressive Signal Processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We show that to lower the sampling rate in a spread spectrum communication system using Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS), compressive signal processing can be applied to demodulate the received signal.

A Blind Despreading and Demodulation Method for QPSK-DSSS Signal With Unknown Carrier Offset Based on Matrix Subspace Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals are widely used in various military and civilian communication systems. It adopts the pseudorandom (PN) sequence to modulate baseband signal before transmission, leading to some unique and useful properties ...

Blind Estimation of Spreading Sequence and Data Bits in Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum Communication Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
At the transmitter of a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) communication system, data bits are spread using a spreading sequence. To demodulate the transmitted data bits, the received signal should be de-spread using the same spreading sequence ...

Identity‐Enabled CDMA LiDAR for Massively Parallel Ranging with a Single‐Element Receiver

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 23, December 3, 2025.
A novel LiDAR system integrates CDMA modulation with a single‐element detector to achieve massive channel parallel 3D imaging. By using a user identification code and a correlation‐based feedback loop, it overcomes signal collisions and the near‐far problem.

Acupuncture's Multisystem Neuroimmunomodulation: Central–Peripheral Interactions in Gastroenteric, Psychiatric, and Chronic Pain Disorders

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 11, November 2025.
This work elucidates acupuncture's multisystem therapeutic mechanisms through central‐peripheral crosstalk. Using functional gastrointestinal disorders, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain models, we demonstrate its efficacy in rebalancing gut‐brain signaling, neuroimmune‐endocrine integration, and humoral network modulation.
