Direct simulation Monte Carlo schemes for Coulomb interactions in plasmas

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the development of Monte Carlo schemes for molecules with Coulomb interactions. We generalize the classic algorithms of Bird and Nanbu-Babovsky for rarefied gas dynamics to the Coulomb case thanks to the approximation introduced by Bobylev ...

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Development of an adjoint flux calculation technique for exact perturbation theory in Monte Carlo transport

open access: yesEPJ Nuclear Sciences & Technologies
A calculation technique computing the adjoint flux of perturbed system is developed for the exact perturbation theory in Monte Carlo transport. By using a correlated sampling and iterated fission probability methods together, the adjoint flux of ...

Direct Simulation of Low-Pressure Supersonic Gas Expansions and its Experimental Verification

open access: yes, 2008
The use of gas expansions to generate atomic or molecular beams has become a standard technique in nuclear and hadron physics for the production of polarized ion beams and gas targets.

Anisotropic velocity distributions in 3D dissipative optical lattices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present a direct measurement of velocity distributions in two dimensions by using an absorption imaging technique in a 3D near resonant optical lattice.

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms of Glioma Recurrence: A Study Integrating Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.

Misadventures in Monte Carlo

open access: yesJournal of Sports Analytics, 2019
Estimating probability is the very core of forecasting. Increasing computing power has enabled researchers to design highly intractable probability models, such that model results are identified through the Monte Carlo method of repeated stochastic ...

Monte Carlo Simulation of the Three-dimensional Ising Spin Glass

open access: yes, 1999
We study the 3D Edwards-Anderson model with binary interactions by Monte Carlo simulations. Direct evidence of finite-size scaling is provided, and the universal finite-size scaling functions are determined.
