Transient Stability Assessment of Prone-to-Trip Renewable Generation Rich Power Systems Using Lyapunov's Direct Method

IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, 2019
Utilities across the world are seeing increased penetration of inverter-based renewable generation (RG) in their systems. These RGs have ride through curves programmed in them which define operating conditions that need to be satisfied during electrical ...

Assessment of propeller influence on lateral-directional stability of multiengine aircraft

Journal of Aircraft, 1981
Using a twin-engine turboprop aircraft, flight measurements were made to supplement the very limited data on the effects of propellers on the individual lateral static and dynamic stability derivatives. It is found that the propeller slipstream significantly affects the wing contribution to the derivative lv.

Direct Transient Stability Assessment with Two-Axis Generator Models

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1990
Abstract The recently developed Extended Equal Area Criterion (EEAC) method has proved to be an accurate and extremely fast transient stability assessment method for the classical model. This model may be too rough for some practical engineering uses.

Fast methods for direct assessment of power system transient stability

IEE Proceedings C Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 1988
The paper presents a new and simple method for transient stability assessment of multimachine power systems. The criterion for assessment is given in terms of the rate of change of kinetic energy of individual machines subsequent to fault clearance. The basic concepts and the mathematical formulation of the method are summarised.

Biochar stability assessment methods: A review.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
Biochar is being developed as a candidate with great potential for climate change mitigation. Sequestering biochar carbon in soil contributes greatly to the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions, and biochar stability is the most decisive factor that ...

A direct method for frequency stability assessment of power systems

APSCOM 2000 - 5th International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management, 2000
A direct method for frequency stability assessment of power systems is proposed in this paper, which is based on the latest Jacobian matrix of the Newton-Raphson load flow calculation. The method can directly calculate the final system frequency after the last switching without step-by-step integral, and the system frequency stability can be determined.

Static and seismic stability assessment of 3D slopes with cracks

, 2020
The majority of extant analyses on slope stability assumed a two-dimensional plane-strain condition and/or an intact slope. However, slope failures typically exhibit three-dimensional (3D) characteristics and cracks are commonly present in cohesive ...

Critical Energy for Direct Transient Stability Assessment of a Multimachine Power System

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1984
This paper describes a criterion for determining the critical energy used in direct transient stability assessment of a multimachine power system using the transient energy function method. This criterion provides a method by which the controlling unstable equilibrium point (u.e.p.), for the disturbance under investigation, is identified.

Integrating Model-Driven and Data-Driven Methods for Power System Frequency Stability Assessment and Control

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2019
With increase of practical power system complexity, power system online stability assessment and control is more and more important. Application of the traditional model-driven methods is always limited by contradiction between accuracy and efficiency ...
