Interfacial Water Coordination on Ruthenium Oxide Nanoparticles Confined Within Covalent Organic Framework and Its Effect on Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate how oxygen‐deficient ruthenium oxide (RuOx) nanoparticles confined within covalent organic framework achieve highly efficient nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion. Strong interaction between RuOx nanoparticles and COF results in modified interfacial hydrogen‐bond water network and adsorption of nitrogenous intermediates.

Entropy‐Stabilized Aluminate Catalysts That Break the Activity–Stability Tradeoff in CF4 Hydrolysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Entropy‐stabilized aluminate breaks the activity–stability tradeoff in CF4 hydrolysis by combining a multication aluminate framework with an entropy‐stabilized lattice. An electron‐deficient Al–O environment is F‐philic but O‐phobic, enabling C–F activation while suppressing H2O poisoning. Under steam‐rich, strongly fluorinating conditions, the entropy‐

Theoretical Study of Direct Steam Generation in Two Parallel Pipes

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2014
AbstractIn this work it was simulated the direct steam generation (DSG) in a system of two horizontal parallel pipes by using the commercial simulator RELAP. The pipes were 500 m long, internal diameter 5cm, and wall thickness of 10mm. Pipes were fed with sub-cooled water and the output can be: 1) hot water, 2) a steam-water mixture, 3) overheated ...

Self‐Adhesive Conductive Elastomers for Gel‐Free Biopotential Recording

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
σPOMaC, a self‐adhesive conductive citrate elastomer incorporating PEDOT:PSS and DBSA, enables gel‐free biopotential electrodes with stable conductivity and intrinsic skin adhesion. The composite exhibits low resistivity (∼ 0.02 Ω·cm), robust electrical performance during repeated use, and reliable on‐body ECG acquisition comparable to Ag/AgCl ...

Quantitative Photo‐Reforming of Biomass to CO Spurred by In Situ Protonation of Carbon Dioxide Radical Anions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A “two‐in‐one” photoreduction strategy enabled by electron‐rich yolk Cd species both remote from and adjacent to sulfur vacancies is delivered to be ultraselective for the reduction of O2 and •CO2− in situ formed on the shell Bi2S3 composition (hole) by water oxidation and oxidative C–C cleavage of various biomass organic acids, furnishing CO with > 99%

Modeling and experimental investigation on a direct steam generation solar collector with flat plate thermal concentration

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2020
Currently, steam generation using solar energy mostly relies on optical concentration, which is a costly system, to generate the high temperature needed for water evaporation.

Coupling heat and electricity sources to intermediate temperature steam electrolysis

open access: yes, 2012
The use of CO2-free energy sources for running SOEC (solid-oxide electrolysis cell) technologies has a great potential to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions compared to fossil fuel based technologies for hydrogen production.
