Model predictive control (MPC) based direct torque control (DTC) of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs)

2013 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2013
In this paper, a two-loop control scheme is presented for the direct torque control (DTC) of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The contribution of this paper is twofold. The Drst is to propose an inner-loop model predictive controller (MPC) with the stability analysis.

Analysis of Cogging Torque and its Effect on Direct Torque Control (DTC) in a Segmented Interior Permanent Magnet Machine

2007 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2007
This paper investigates reduced cogging torque seen in the Segmented Interior Permanent Magnet (SIPM) machine and explores the effects of cogging torque on direct torque control (DTC) performance. In the segmented IPM machine, the pole magnets are segmented to provide an improved flux-weakening capability to the rotor.

Direct torque control of induction motor using space vector modulation (SVM-DTC)

2008 12th International Middle-East Power System Conference, 2008
In this study, direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor is evaluated based on space vector modulation (SVM). DTC is a method to control machine with utilizing torque and flux of motor controlled. The torque and current ripple are occurred in the conventional DTC.

Performance analysis of Direct Torque Control (DTC) for synchronous machine permanent magnet (PMSM)

2010 IEEE 16th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME), 2010
The Direct Torque Control is a technique increasingly used for the ordering of the invertors and synchronous machine. This system can be regarded as a hybrid dynamic system whose continuous component is the permanent magnet synchronous machine and the discrete component, the inverter of tension. In this article, we propose a modeling of this whole by a

Evaluation of methods of speed estimation of asynchronous motor based on direct torque control (DTC)

SPEEDAM 2010, 2010
In this paper two methods of speed estimation of a three phase induction motor system are analyzed. The method of direct torque control with no sensors was used to control the motor system. The mathematical models of the above mentioned methods are analyzed for every case. Following the estimation method analysis of open and closed loop the observation

Reliable Direct Torque Control with Flux Vector Modulation (DTC-FVM) for AC Motors

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Diagnostics for Electric Machines, Power Electronics and Drives, 2007
In this paper a simple method for electric motor control is presented -Direct Torque Control with Flux Vector Modulation (DTC -FVM). The DTC -FVM can be applied for both induction and synchronous machine. This method is based on stator flux vector modulation. Required torque is obtained by control an angle between stator and rotor flux.

A novel direct torque control (DTC) for six-phase induction motors with common neutrals

2008 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2008
This paper introduces direct torque control (DTC) for six-phase induction motors (SPIM) with common neutrals. The machine has six phase windings spatially shifted by 60 electrical degrees and connected to a single neutral. SPIM drive has 64 inverter switching stages which provide higher possibility in selecting space voltage vectors than three phase ...

A novel Direct Torque Control (DTC) method for dual three phase induction motors

2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2006
This paper introduces direct torque control (DTC) of dual three phase induction machines (DTPIM). In this paper the DTPIM has two, three phase windings spatially shifted by gamma electrical degree that is 30deg or 60deg. DTPIM drive has 64 inverter switching states which provide higher possibility in selecting space voltage vectors than three phase ...

Controller Design for Direct Torque Controlled Space Vector Modulated (DTC-SVM) Induction Motor Drives

Proceedings of the IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2005. ISIE 2005., 2005
In this paper two different methods of PI controllers for direct torque controlled-space vector modulated induction motor drives have been studied. The first one is simple method based only on symmetric optimum criterion. The second approach takes into account the full model of induction motor including rotor voltage equation and uses root locus method.

Direct Torque Control (DTC) and three phase induction motor simulation in MATLAB/Simulink

i-manager’s Journal on Instrumentation and Control Engineering, 2023
Direct Torque Control (DTC) is considered one of the most effective methods for the decoupled control of electromagnetic torque and speed in an induction motor. In DTC, torque is directly regulated by the torque angle, defined as the difference between the stator flux angle and the rotor flux angle.
