Directed Search with Multiple Job Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We develop an equilibrium directed search model of the labor market where workers can simultaneously apply for multiple jobs. The main result is that all equilibria exhibit wage dispersion despite the fact that workers and firms are homogeneous.

Dynamic Interconnection Approach With BLX-Based Search Applied to Multi-Swarm Optimizer: An Empirical Analysis to Real Constrained Optimization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
The Multi-Swarm approach allows the use of multiple configurations between two or more populations of particles, where each one can present different approaches (e.g.

Price Dispersion with Directed Search [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Economic Association, 2009
We model a market where identical buyers direct their search to identical capacity-constrained sellers. Sellers cannot fully commit to the list price so strategic bargaining may determine the sale price. We study search and pricing behavior in symmetric equilibrium.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Efficiently Exploring Ordering Problems through Conflict-directed Search

open access: yes, 2019
In planning and scheduling, solving problems with both state and temporal constraints is hard since these constraints may be highly coupled. Judicious orderings of events enable solvers to efficiently make decisions over sequences of actions to satisfy ...

Memory-Based Evolutionary Algorithms for Nonlinear and Stochastic Programming Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we target the problems of finding a global minimum of nonlinear and stochastic programming problems. To solve this type of problem, we propose new approaches based on combining direct search methods with Evolution Strategies (ESs) and ...

A new directed signature scheme on a general linear group over a group ring

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, 2023
In this work, we propose a new directed digital signature scheme over a group ring whose security relies on the hardness of the discrete logarithm problem and the factorization search problem. This scheme is efficient as it requires very few operations

Informative Advertising in Directed Search [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2012
We consider a directed search environment where capacity constrained sellers reach uncoordinated buyers through costly advertising while buyers observed all prices probabilistically. We show that: (i) the equilibrium advertising intensity has an inverted U-shape in market tightness, (ii) the equilibrium advertising intensity is higher under an auction ...

Clinical Course and Impact of Breaks in Therapy for Children With Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric relapsed or refractory (R/R) solid tumors carry a dismal prognosis, and postrelapse patient experiences are not well described. We present postrelapse outcomes, including number of R/R events and subsequent therapy regimens.

Synthetic Gene Circuits: Design with Directed Evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Synthetic circuits offer great promise for generating insights into nature's underlying design principles or forward engineering novel biotechnology applications. However, construction of these circuits is not straightforward.
