A Branch History Directed Heuristic Search for Effective Binary Level Dynamic Symbolic Execution

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Heuristic search is an important part of modern dynamic symbolic execution (DSE) tools, as heuristic search can be used to effectively explore the large program input space.

Dynamic Interconnection Approach With BLX-Based Search Applied to Multi-Swarm Optimizer: An Empirical Analysis to Real Constrained Optimization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
The Multi-Swarm approach allows the use of multiple configurations between two or more populations of particles, where each one can present different approaches (e.g.

Direct search for light gluinos [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1999
Abstract We present the results for a direct search for light gluinos through the appearance of η →3 π 0 with high transverse momentum in the vacuum tank of the NA48 experiment at CERN. We find one event within a lifetime range of 10 −9 –10 −3 s and another one between 10 −10 –10 −9 s. Both events are consistent with the expected background from

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Memory-Based Evolutionary Algorithms for Nonlinear and Stochastic Programming Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we target the problems of finding a global minimum of nonlinear and stochastic programming problems. To solve this type of problem, we propose new approaches based on combining direct search methods with Evolution Strategies (ESs) and ...

A new directed signature scheme on a general linear group over a group ring

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, 2023
In this work, we propose a new directed digital signature scheme over a group ring whose security relies on the hardness of the discrete logarithm problem and the factorization search problem. This scheme is efficient as it requires very few operations

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Psychosis and Psychotic-Like Symptoms Affect Cognitive Abilities but Not Motivation in a Foraging Task

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
Background and ObjectiveGoal-directed behavior is a central feature of human functioning. It requires goal appraisal and implicit cost-benefit analyses, i.e., how much effort to invest in the pursuit of a certain goal, against its value and a confidence ...

The Search for Minimal Search: A Graph-Theoretic Approach

open access: yesBiolinguistics, 2023
This paper examines Minimal Search, an operation that is at the core of current Minimalist inquiry. We argue that, given Minimalist assumptions about structure building consisting of unordered set-formation, there are serious difficulties in defining ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
