Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Compressive frequency-difference direction-of-arrival estimation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2023
Direction-of-arrival estimation is difficult for signals spatially undersampled by more than half the wavelength. Frequency-difference beamforming [Abadi, Song, and Dowling (2012). J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 132, 3018–3029] offers an alternative approach to avoid such spatial aliasing by using multifrequency signals and processing them at a lower frequency ...

Interferometer based Direction-Of-Arrival Detection System

2018 18th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM), 2018
This paper presents an interferometer-based direction of arrival (DoA) detection system. Unlike conventional six-port based phase discriminators, the proposed architecture uses only three couplers in combination with three receiving antennas. The modeling and analysis of the DoA detection scheme prove that it is possible to improve the measurement ...

High Resolution Estimation of Directions of Arrival

2005 IEEE 61st Vehicular Technology Conference, 2005
In this paper, we propose a novel system architecture that employs the flexible tree search based orthogonal matching pursuit (FTB-OMP) algorithm for direction of arrival estimation. It is shown by simulation results that the FTB-OMP algorithm has high estimation performance and resolution capability when compared to the MUSIC and OMP algorithms.

Multiple target direction of arrival tracking

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1995
A new algorithm is presented for estimating the directions of arrival of signals from an unknown number of moving signal sources. The parameter space is a countable union of Cartesian products of the torus, each product space corresponding to a different number of signals reaching the sensor array. A Bayesian posterior probability measure is defined on

A novel direction of arrival estimator

Journal of Electronics (China), 2004
A Direction Of Arrival(DOA) estimator based on the signal separation principle is introduced, and one of representative multidimensional estimators is established by introducing Matrix Operator projection signal steering Vector Excision(MOVE) operation.

Practical direction-of-arrival system evaluation

2015 IEEE Radar Conference, 2015
A system-level, performance evaluation of a direction-of-arrival (DOA) receiver is presented to show that exclusively optimising a single processing step can produce poor overall results. Monte-Carlo simulations of DOA receiver systems with different receiver architectures, integration methods and DOA algorithms are presented and evaluated.
