Compressive wideband direction of arrival estimation

2015 38th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2015
Compressive Sampling (CS) has recently emerged as a groundbreaking technique which reconstructs the sparse signal using samples taken below Nyquist sampling frequency (sub-Nyquist samples). In this paper we consider to estimate the Direction of Arrival (DOA) of wideband signals using sub-Nyquist samples.

Methods of direction-of-arrival

[1991] IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 2002
The direction-of-arrival (DOA) problem is of interdisciplinary interest, and a number of algorithms have been developed for its solution. These include beamforming, maximum-likelihood, least squares error modeling, and signal and noise subspace methods. A unifying development of these algorithms is presented. >

High-resolution Direction-of-Arrival estimation

2022
Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation is considered one of the most crucial problems in array signal processing, with considerable research efforts for developing efficient and effective direction-finding algorithms, especially in the transportation industry, where the demand for an effective, real-time, and accurate DOA algorithm is increasing ...

Decentralized Direction of Arrival Estimation

2017
Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation using partly calibrated arrays composed of multiple subarrays is employed in various practical applications, such as radar, sonar, and seismic exploration. The state-of-the-art DOA estimation algorithms require the measurements of all sensors to be available at a processing center (PC).

Subspace estimators of direction of arrival

Conference Record of the Thirty-Eighth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2004., 2005
We consider in this paper a class of techniques for the estimation of the direction of arrival of a narrowband signal. Eigenvectors of a spectral covariance matrix corresponding to a number of the lowest eigenvalues are used to estimate the bearing. It is shown that the estimator has a non-standard asymptotic distribution.

Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation

2019
The importance of DOA estimation in radar processing for automotive applications cannot be overstated. It forms the third component of the radar cube: range, velocity, and angle. In practice, DOA estimation is often complicated by the fact that there will be multiple and unknown number of source signals impinging on the receiver array at the same time,

Direction of Arrival Model for Multipath

3rd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Trends, Communication, Optimization and Sciences (EEECOS 2016), 2016
This paper attempts to model the multipath phenomenon on a sea surface, with primary emphasis on the DOA. The model in this paper considers parameters viz. height of target, height of radar, target range etc., The results of this paper discusses effects of height of target, height of radar, beam width of antenna, slant range of target and the DOA on ...

Direction of Arrival Filters for Improved Aberration Estimation

Ultrasonic Imaging, 2008
Successful adaptive imaging requires accurate measurements of the aberration profile across the array surface. Two-dimensional spatial filters are used to obtain more accurate estimates of aberrating layers by suppressing wavefronts emanating from off-axis scatterers.

Directions-of-Arrival Estimation Through Bayesian Compressive Sensing Strategies

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2013
The estimation of the directions of arrival (DoAs) of narrow-band signals impinging on a linear antenna array is addressed within the Bayesian compressive sensing (BCS) framework. Unlike several state-of-the-art approaches, the voltages at the output of the receiving sensors are directly used to determine the DoAs of the signals thus avoiding the ...
