Direction Finding Using Spectral Estimation with Arbitrary Antenna Arrays

open access: yes, 2001
This paper presents direction-finding techniques for smart antennas based on conformal and irregular antenna arrays. Methods of spectral estimation are considered to estimate directions-of-arrival (azimuth and elevation) using two-dimensional arrays and ...

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

Quasi-optimal discriminator of the two-channel angular coordinates measurer of the fast fluctuating signal source in the radar with linear scanning of the antenna direction pattern

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2019
Considering the synthesis of the quasi-optimal two-channel discriminator structure of the angle meter of the fast fluctuating signal source for using a linear scanning of the antenna pattern. It is shown that the discriminator can be constructed by using

Direction finding using multiple MEMS acoustic sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A microelectromechanical direction-finding sensor has been developed based on the mechanically coupled ears of the Ormia ochracea fly. Previous designs determined the direction of sound relative to the normal of the sensor by using the sound pressure ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Direction of Arrival Finding Using Irregular Non-Rectilinear Arrays

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a new radio direction finding technique based on irregular non-rectilinear arrays, which operates without priori knowledge of source radiation frequencies.
